My analysis of this incident is different. I view this not as winning or losing an argument. There is video of the attacker standing at a distance in the background, and then running up to Hatun and attacking her with a knife. They were not having a conversation. This was premeditated. Instead, I view this as a classic attack for mocking Mohammed, following the sunnah of Mohammed established, for example, in Sahih al-Bukhari 4037 or Sunan Abu Dawud 4361. Pray for Hatun, but also pray for the attacker. I have heard testimonies of people like him coming to Christ. Pray for him too. I am sure Hatun would approve.

I don't think what happened to Hatun has to do with an inability at defending one's ideas but with an attempt to consistently and faithfully applying those very ideas, particularly those on punishment regarding what has been judged as blasphemy. I have been showing a Muslim who declares the Quran is superior because it uses the word "noor" for light when it refers to the moon. Some translators translate it as "reflected light" which is his basic argument. The Bible just calls it a light. God describes himself in Quran like this - there is only one god without any partners, no son, no statues, no images. I'm an atheist who clearly sees the difference between Christianity and is lamb. I feel safe among Christians and even have a certain admiration for them because I can clearly see the difference between it and the other religion who's name I had better not mention for this comment not to be censored by their collaborators and protectors, the tech overlords. I certainly have a great admiration for Hatun Tash, this brave tiny woman. It should be obvious that the West has blunted Christianity's fangs rendering it harmless to unbelievers. The same cannot be said about is lamb. Yes I am scared of the latter religion. Anno 2021 it still is the only religion on this planet with the potential to be the cause of another great and bloody war. I shudder to think of some Iranian or Saudi cleric in possession of nuclear weapers. That ought to be all too clear to even the most casual observer although I doubt is lamb will survive the age of the internet and the exchange of ideas at lighting speed. It has always depended on ignorance and brutal violence, both in this world and the imaginary afterlife to remain in a position of absolute power. In essence it is a death kult. This earthly life as opposed to life in eternity is unimportant. Luckily all that is changing rapidly. If it's to survive it will be in a watered down reformed version of the totalitarian ideology it is today. It seems to me that by its very definition as the perfect and unalterable word of the creator as revealed to the perfect yet clearly immoral and imperfect M, the followers are facing an impossible uphill battle to reform this vile ideology. Time will tell what happens. Fasten your seat belt. There's a bumpy road ahead.
