I really love these long format videos. I have gotten into the habit of letting them play in the background while I fiddle with a project or draft listings. Thank you so much for all the information you provide. I was able to score a large amount of scrap sterling silver that I sold on ebay because of the things I've learned from you. Bought a precious metals testing kit as well :)

Selling for less is great when trying to move items but you have to be careful not to race to the bottom. As many sellers will say everything has a 100% sell through rate at a certain price. But why do we want to race to the bottom? Instead, try to find that middle ground so that our time is worth the effort.

The figures on your dresser set are most likely Diana the Huntress and her hunting dogs from Greek mythology, especially because there is the Greek Key pattern below them.

love your channel! I am no expert on chinese/japanese porcelain but the blue/white & gold dish at 20.00 may be much older than the other ones. The gold without regard to the underlying pattern "clobbering" and the bubble flaws can indicate older pieces

The Oriental blue dish that you showed I think would be a tea cup. I believe they had tea cups that did not have handles like western tea cups to.

The cigar cutter scares me to death!!! I can just see a young one chopping doll legs and arms off, and then their finger. No thanks for me. The scissors you called serrated are actually thinning shears to shape hair. The little scissors that stay open are thread nippers. That style is still made, and I have one. Check out the brand, some are quite desired for sewing. I love that your hauls are always so eclectic.

You stated those watches still work but just need batteries. I'm wondering how do you verify a watch still works and sell it as such if you don't put in a new battery? Or do you use the word untested and sell for less? I have quite a few I'm wondering how to list them.

I opened an Etsy shop about a year ago simply to pay for the storage unit that I was keeping my mother’s “stuff” in. I didn’t want to rush through things so it gave me the opportunity to let things go a little at a time. She was a rummaging, flea market, auction sale QUEEN. I’ve been able to sell a lot of her thrifted items while designating who her sentimental treasures would go to. Found out I really enjoyed the hunt so I’m binging your very helpful videos today. 😊

@RustyTheReseller - I saw the 22k gold stamps on the table, have you listed them yet? Just curious as I have some too, I was the one who mentioned they weren't foil, but 22k. :) Happy selling!!!

In a recent video when you were talking about postcards you mentioned a reference book about stamps I failed to write it down at the time. Would you please provide the name of the book. I know they are on Amazon and sell for a pretty good amount of money.

That's exactly what I thought. Might actually sell well, unfortunately, due to the resurgency on the liberal left of socialistic ideology. Although, these young socialists have no idea what it means or who Lenin actually was. They don't even remember John Lennon. 😅

But when you do that Rusty, you are also bringing the market down considerably on that item and that affects all of us resellers. Just please be mindful of that. At the end of the day the ups and downs of the reselling market on the items we sale affects all of us and can affect our lively hood also. Love your videos.
@mg72511 ай бұрын
That's a very good point. Too many people here and on TikTok are going on about how they bought something at Goodwill for $2 and they sold it online for $50 and then, what do you know, thrift stores get greedy and expensive and they weed out the good stuff - that they get for free by the way - and sell it online themselves for much higher prices. And also, more to your main point, it reduces how much buyers and even collectors are willing to pay for something.
@debbiem.312810 ай бұрын
I trust Rusty's discretion to sell items at the prices he deduces. The market is influenced by a multitude of factors. One could be kept very busy if they made it their job to inform all sellers when their prices are deemed too low. People sell for different reasons, from selling a few items to make a few bucks to professional sellers. All the best.

@@michellecoldham1001 that's a good idea. My oldest son is a writer but he hasn't had anything published yet so he runs a cleaning company. I call him all the time to give him ideas for new stories that come to me in dreams. He lives a thousand miles away from his whole family in Missouri. He isn't an anglophile like me so he wouldn't be interested in writing a story about King George V. Stop putting off writing your story. You were meant to write it. There will be something left behind when your life is over. Start today and force yourself to do your pre writing.

Thanks. Can you shoot a video on pro con of having more than one ebay store vs co-listening on etsy? Or maybe more of questions to ask ourselves to help decide. I started an etsy shop and things sold there that didn’t on eBay, but wondered about having a more specialized ebay store. Also, of course not duping items on another ebay store, that’s against policy (even though i have seen people have the same thing on 2 store, same pix, description erc) if too personal, I understand. Thx.

@@daniellefehring8278 now how would you like it if you made a suggestion and you were simply dismissed with the option to just not partake?
