I am dating my best friend from high school right now. We’ve been together for almost 3 years and I remember how our strongest moments as a couple were during tough times. We had met when I was 13 and had just lost my core group of friends as well as my first boyfriend. Mike, my current boyfriend and best friend, helped me get back on my feet and we started talking as casual friends. We eventually lost touch in early high school and reconnected after I lost another group of friends. This time we became close friends and started hanging out after school. Two years later things changed when both of us started developing romantic feelings towards each other. I will never forget the night Mike asked me out. One day I found out my mom had cancer. The news took a day or two to hit me but when it did, I was crying myself to sleep. That night Mike calls me and notices I’m not my happy self. Upon asking what was wrong, I told him the news and he made it a point to stay up with me past midnight until I felt better. Within that phone conversation he told me that he could make me feel happy, safe etc. if I gave him a chance. The next morning I accepted his offer and became his girlfriend.

Britanie Williams, thank you. It’s funny how sometimes the person you would never see yourself with, is the person you end up with long term. Had somebody asked me when I was 13-16 if I’d end up with Mike, I would have said absolutely not and so would he; but as we developed a close friendship in late high school our feelings changed. I can’t believe we’ve been together this long given that we were both each other’s FIRST real love. I think our friendship is what keeps things alive between us.

The moment i realised my boyfriend is the one, was once we were eating dinner with my parents, and my mom was telling a story from my childhood. The story was that i used to collect candy wrappings, and fold it, my mom always thought it was weird and kinda laughed at the story, but then my boyfriend told us all he did the same thing, and he had a book of folded wrapping paper at home. I asked God to send me an angel to tell me if the man I was seeing was the one. A few days later my boyfriend and I went for a walk in the park and a group of children dressed as angels came running up to us on the walking path. "Ease and peace..." Yes. Such good keys Matthew. Last night I was snugged up against my man contemplating how my whole inner and outer worlds have changed since I left my life in New Zealand in December 2018 and came to live with him in his home country which is Sweden. We live in a tiny 10 x 4.5 meter apartment (30 x 14 foot) with a 10 x 2 meter balcony outside. I am a keen gardener, so the balcony at the edge of the city overlooking Skåne farmland makes all the difference to me. As I was contemplating all of the amazing changes and wonderful outcomes since I moved here, the words that came to me were "Safe and comfortable." I've never been safe much in my life since there was so much violence in the family of my early life and also in my marriage, which after 4.5 years I had to get out of. I struggled daily after that as a young mom raising two little children on my own. My children never knew a father. That's sad. Finally, when all hope was lost for me to ever couple (beauty and cuteness fading at the age of nearly 50, and such), a beautiful man walked into my life in New Zealand in 2010. He was so kind, never impulsive, never rash or judgemental, never raised his voice, took everything in his stride... and he broke down the defensive walls in me. For 25 years I had my walls up and wouldn't let anyone in. I was afraid and always on alert for danger. He broke me down, through his kindness and the stability of his nature. I now only feel safe and comforted with him as I lay down with him, my head on his chest. It is truly a very wonderful thing... A miracle actually. I wonder at it every day. A miracle.

I was ready for a date that I was going on. Not with my hubby. I hadn’t met him yet. Lol I went to my sisters house to drop off my four yr old son. A gentleman was bent down tying his shoes. How do you know you've found the one? 1. The single most common factor is: "it is EASY to be together" . And they feel PEACE when together. The attraction can be there from the start, or build up. But the ease an peace are there from the start. It looks almost like you can't mess it up. You get to be yourself. You get to relax. You can let go. You can have fun. Of course later on there are going to be bumps on the road.

I knew he’s the one when he matched/ surpassed my desire for Growth, I noticed myself holding me up to a higher standard and being truest to me because of him doing that for himself. It was definitely the case for my first husband. It was impossible for me to make him angry or upset. He was exactly like the man in the story. We were happily married for 23 years until he passed last fall. I thought it would be impossible to find that kind of goodness again, but it happened! I will marry this man because even though he is very different in terms of personality, the way he treats me, the kindness and ease and gentle devotion feels EXACTLY THE SAME as the way my late husband treated me. So that must be how you can know. The way you want to be treated must be there. That’s a character issue. Don’t chase chemistry, chase kindness. Just one month in to a new relationship. Somewhat of a long story but a man from my teenage years is now back in my life after about 35 years. I can't say my relationship has been easy because we have strong avoidant and anxious parts. But we have always had very deep conversations and bring out the best in each other. We fight but we make peace every time with meaningful talks and both always adapting bad behavior. We fought a lot, because we triggered each other so much. But we talked, analyzed and improved our behavior so much. Talking about our wounds and helping to heal. Now we don't fight often anymore and our goal is to be ourselfes completely and at the same time harmonious and peaceful. it is so true about this concept about feeling the peacefulness of the relationship. I fell in love when I was a teenager and it was total chaos from that day on in my life. Constant drama and solving his problems with other individuals where he got into conflict. Should have paid attention but I was so young and naive back then. He was my parents handyman I never met until I bought my own house and he did work for me and I felt so secure around him and safe when he was around. I've only been with my partner for 6 months but already things feel different. I am at ease with him. I didn't have a massive attraction for him in the beginning, however, it has grown steadily every day since and I feel it's only going to continue to grow. There were times I realized I made a mistake of some sort and apologized to him for it but he reassures me that it's alright. We communicate openly. I am a very empathetic individual and he can't hide anything from me because of it. With past relationships, I would get the feeling something was wrong and they would tell me they're fine. I knew there was something because I could feel it, but they'd hide it from me anyways. This would cause me to doubt myself and question whether I was doing something wrong. My current partner doesn't cause me to doubt myself or question what I am doing is right. I can have the confidence and be myself with him. It's taking a lot of self-esteem conditioning to break, but he's comfortable to be with me on that journey to help me become the best version of myself and I respect and appreciate him the way he deserves equally in return. Well I just started talking to a guy and it’s been 3 months yesterday ☺️ and it’s been easy to talk to him. For the first time in my life, I feel peace with this guy and I have never had that with any guy before. I know it’s still early but it just feels easy and just thinking about him makes me smile 😃

I know I've fount the one because in past relationships I'd see video like that or read stuff and try to fit it to the person I was with well this persons like this but he does it like this etc but with this relationship I don't have to do that what i read and what i see fits to him and I don't have to justify or adjust it to him in anyway

That’s something I always say to my special someone..... “you always bring a sense of peace into my life.” It’s true. I met my fiancé on bumble. I never believed in dating sites but one day I was on Facebook and it said “don’t wait for fate” with the bumble app so I went ahead and installed it. I just moved to a new area w my parents so I was interested to meet different people. We swiped right on each other instantly and of course the woman has to message first so I did! I usually wouldn’t. I said hi and we never ever stopped talking. We had so much in common. Our first date when he hugged me it felt like home. Felt like I’ve known him for eternity. We had a long distance relationship for a year and a half and sometimes we wouldn’t see each other for a month or more! But in April we moved in together and in novermber he proposed. He is my soulmate and my best friend. He makes me laugh like no other person ever has. He doesn’t judge me. He grows with me. I never second guessed my feelings for him and I feel at ease and at peace with him. He LOVES me and I love him. I could not see my life without him. I can’t wait to marry him. I’m so thankful I found my soulmate!!!

Also when I met him I was reading the alchemist. One quote said “I love you because the entire universe conspires to help me find you”. And it’s true. It al came together perfectly. All the heart break I dealt with in the past trying to force relationships was all meant to be so that I could learn to love the right way for when he finally came. Ladies and gents don’t take heart breaks as failure take it as learning lessons so that you can learn how to love for when the right man comes

I’m dating this guy, very much a gentleman and at first I thought this was just a ploy, considering my dating history but the moment I realised this was just who he was , was when the first time I got into his car a piece of the interior had come off and stuck to my hair, he pulled it away and apologised, I thought that’s sweet, then every time since, as I’m getting into the car he holds that piece up so it doesn’t stick to my hair. That was the moment I knew I had met a very special man. We are still in the very early stages but I’m enjoying his company. I just met him..very recently..last april 16 this quarantine..seasons..in Dating sites..by the way im a filipina 52 yrs old.. and John message me...and yah..he got my attention because..there is a kinda..word of "please" ha ha..so.i chat with me..and we decided to have Line so we can have much good communications..there..but you know since then..we never stop taking chatting videocalling every chance he takes..and im so overwelmed and also about his so very a Goodman,his a country man,from ohio..and i really felt something so very special with him..and seriously ..we are both..very inlove with each other even we are not seeing and knowing well yet..but we both committing to get married..but i have to work on my Annulment done first..its still covid season but he is so willing to wait..until my Annulment to be done..his coming here to meet me on December. Then I'm set with my guy. He is so easy to talk to about everything under the sun. We have mutually agreed to not discuss politics. Not that we would necessarily disagree, but too many other things to talk about. There are things I've shared with him that some of my closest female friends don't know about. Last few months make me even more sure he's "the one" because he's been my emotional rock with my dad being very sick to the point that my mom was at hospital about to sign papers to take him off the ventilator and let him go. Some doctors told her that they did more tests overnight and he has a fighting chance now. My guy was first person I told the news to. He has his own set of health issues, but nothing life-threatening. Even then, I would stick by his side.

I felt like it was easy and freeing when I met my husband, but it’s getting harder and we’ve only been together 8 years, married almost 3. I have a friend who I am very comfortable confiding in and we have so much in common. I feel like I could spend all day in silence and not worry about the world. I love my husband. We were friends first as well and I didn’t ever plan to be with him in a romantic way. I never want to lose that friendship. I’ve never been independent( live alone) and I just feel like I need to explore that.

Matt I have been talking to this gentleman from Italy for 8 months now, the 1st month or so I gave him a hard time because of a online situation I had in the past, so my issue was Trust. When this gentleman first approached me online there was a connection I couldn't wrap my mind around but I didnt want to seem naive about the situation nor did I want to seem too egar, in the back of my mind I was like NO you are not going through this again, I had the devil on one side and angel on the other. I knew and know though as I am sending this message to you Matt he is the one! When I finally opened up to him about my situation he said I Quote "Bring your mind down...We are going to Pray on this connection and place it in Gods hands. If we are to be together all will happen in Gods time" I had not ever heard those words from anyone before, we started corresponding July of 2019 February 2020 I flew to Italy and have met the one despite some of the opposition I'm getting and he too is getting now that it's in the open. Our understanding for one another is phenomenal. We know that either of us are perfect and have been working out our own insecurities but because of our search for Love with our openness wanting the same things in life and communication it's made it work even from a distance. I live in States, It's difficult we tell each other all the time but, Our Love for one another is Our Glue.
