This is how I usually land my hook kick. I'm still drilling the one from part 2. It's taking a bit of getting used to! 🙂👍🏼

For Sure! The second one was definitely the most difficult. The one from this video is how I used to do it most of the time, until I got comfortable with the second one. Keep us posted when you start landing it.

Another awesome tip! Had my first legit sparring comp today and I came back from behind to tie then lost it with a very close call - my reverse punch was just a hair slower than my opponent's kick BUT I am happy that I was able to gain some points back and get in there...competition sparring is a WHOLE different beast - I have not had that particular switch turn on to push me to be more "aggressive" for lack of better word, when I am in the ring - was a first but happy with the results. AND your videos have really been a big part of my learning and trying new things during practice like these hook kick drills:) Time to rest up and get back in the dojo tomorrow!! Thank you Nick!!

I may just a white belt I love knowing these thing preparing me when I become a higher belt.

I am a big advocate of introducing white belts to everything so they know what comes next and also to give extra incentive to be great with the basics so they will be able to learn the advanced concepts easier. Keep it up and happy training!
