How do you change careers + switch into a new industry + get a higher salary for a job that asks for 5-10 years’ experience when you ONLY have a total of 2 years’ experience (and in a different field)? If you’ve been job hunting with no luck (and you’ll hear from Jaennia, it took her over 200 job applications for her to finally figure out this new strategy), this video is for YOU! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Wooww. I came back one more time to this video to listening it again and again. I came to a conclusion HOW IMPORTANT is to express yourself. This girl speech is beautiful, I trying to learn the proper "words", "phrases ", "transition words"...to use when you speak. I regret so much NOT taking >Communication classes

I had 1 business communications course in college w/ help on writing a resume. The professor emphasized font size and margins more than what the actual point of it was and the content. That’s why we need ppl like Linda Raynier.

Hi Linda, I love watching your videos and watch it during weekends. I need your help. My son finished school last January 2018 for business administration for 3 years I think that is only a certificate. .He is having a hard time getting a good job.. his work experience is security guard when he was a student. Now he is working at Tim hortons. He tried to apply Costco, some banks and agencies but he is not called for interview. On the resume do he have to mention his work experience as security job? would greatly appreciate if you will respond to me. Thank you . Zilla

I’m switching industry too. I got chance to interview and even offer, but problem is the offer is lower than my bottom line with not much benefits... should I take it anyway or keep looking? what I afraid of is what if I turn down the offer and the other come up are even worse? Super struggle now can’t even sleep😫

Don't feel bad! It's better to have choices than anything at all. Take the offer, if something come up better then simply let it go. Always keep in mind how happy you will feel working at that Company.

Can you do a video on finding a job for people over 50?
@shawn170204
@shawn170204 5 жыл бұрын
MrNewlife1968 it’s not about finding the job it’s how you’re going to sell yourself on your resume. What makes your resume stand out and different from others? What experiences and skills do you have and education that makes YOU special? And don’t apply to jobs that are over your skill levels and education levels. Hope that helps. Also a good tip is to use new lingo and trendy wording on your resume so it doesn’t look dull and old boring.

Can you do a video about getting pass the round 2 and 3 interviews, and the pop up job assessments and how to overcome both?
@asadb1990
@asadb1990 4 жыл бұрын
i usually don't bother with multi round interviews because they can be a waste of time and getting time off multiple days close together is tough. if you are a desired talent, im sure you can network yourself into the final round. one red flag is if an employer has called in people for interview and there are multiple people waiting to be called in. it means you are number in a large crowd. more experienced hiring managers only call in candidates spaced well time apart.

If you have only ever held customer service positions, how do you make your resume stand out?
@Lola10-1
@Lola10-1 5 жыл бұрын
Casey Ouellette I can speak to this because I started in customer service and sales. First, ask yourself what industry you want to enter (i.e. Media, Finance etc.). From there think outside the box. It's easy to think you just did customer service but I'm sure you did more than that. Match your experience to the position you're applying for. If you need help, look at other resumes for that position. The key is to keep in mind that you have EXPERIENCE that another company needs! Sell it. Oh, and network. You got this 👍

Hi Linda, here's a funny story. I just graduated with a marketing degree, however, I went into this field for all the wrong reasons (for safety, parent approval, etc) and unfortunately, I realized that I need to follow my own path but realized it too late. I had no choice but to finish my degree and I have always wanted to go into the film industry. Now that I am out and job searching, it has been really tough because I have no experience (mostly because I was so miserable with the chosen degree and I just didn't want to work!). Do you think it is still possible to get into the film industry somehow utilizing my marketing degree in order to go into the direction I truly want to go into?
