IMPORTANT EDIT : I just got screwed again! Contrarily to what I thought, you can't run the Removal tool from the Windows Repair screen! The only way I found was to either use a restauration point or reinstall Windows :( If you happen to have made this mistake : 1- Download starforce removal on another device and unzip it 2- Put the exe file on a USB storage 3- In your Windows boot menu, find the menu where you can launch cmd.exe 4- With it, open notepad.exe 5- File -> Open 6- With this explorer windows, copy starforce removal on your computer 7- With cmd.exe, navigate to where you put the file by typing : cd C:/path/to/file 8- type sfcdrmver.exe to run the remover 9- Reboot your PC I think this fix the issue. However, it happened to me years ago, so I don't remember that well.

​@@Poutrel I fixed this problem today like this: on the "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC" screen, find and select the option to open command line, type "notepad" and in the "File > Open..." dialog navigate to the main drive, then "Windows/System32/drivers", here find the three starforce drivers (sfdrv01.sys, sfhlp02.sys, sfvfs02.sys) and remove/rename them (e.g. you can add ".old" at the end). The files look like the renaming didn't work, but if you go to previous folder and then back into "drivers", they should be renamed. Then just close the dialog and notepad to go back to command line, type "exit" from the command line and continue to Windows.

Worked! Thank you so much for the tutorial! I discovered Nations Forever all the way back in 2009 and it's thrilling to now be able to experience how it all started. One thing I will say here in case someone else runs into the same issue as I did: If you happen to somehow run into a "Runtime Error R6025 - pure virtual function call" when starting a race or running a benchmark test, then something went wrong when overwriting the files in the final step. A reinstallation and properly following the steps should fix the issue :D

This isn't Nations Forever, this is the original Nations. You have to get a different patch for Nations Forever if it doesn't work off of Steam, but if it works, you're good!
