Irons are not really dangerous if you know how to use them and if you are using the dryer sponge 🧽 you still have to get fabric softener for them so what do you do with the rest of it ? But that’s still a good idea 💡!

Great tips. Loved the anti wrinkle spray and sorting directly from the dryer tino separate bins for each person. I have a similar system for sorting laundry before washing. One bin for each type of laundry. For example dark clothes in one bin, light clothes in another and one for cotton to be washed at higher temperature. The bins are no larger than what fits into the washing machine, so when the bin is full it is time to wash. That way we’re always on top of the laundry situation. Been using this system for more than 25 years and it just works.

I have a laundry closet too. If you have any space on the sides (if your machines are stacked) then you could find some kind of system for that skinny section next to them where you could put baskets maybe? Or if it's in the hall and you have one of those cube storage devices, honestly you could fold the clothes and put them in the cubes with each cube clearly marked for each child or person in your house. :) Or any kind of hallway/entrance way type cabinet or sideboard. You can decorate the top to suit your style, then put some of those cube bins or even some of the Dollar Tree trays she's shown us, depending on the amount of space. Hope those ideas help!

I thought about it but wondered if the sponge deteriorate and leave little bits on my clothing. Also the idea of wringing out a sponge everytime you dry clothes means I'd always have to dry my hands every time. Currently, I reuse dryer sheets by putting a few drops of Downy on them while in a container. They're ready to use every time, laundry smells great, I haven't spent money on sponges and that one bottle of Downy lasts all year. I think I got that tip from a Cheapskate channel. Anyway, good luck to you guys who try out the sponge idea.

Dryer sheets and fabric softener are not good for your machines or your clothes. Ask a repairman. The residue left behind builds up on clothes and in the machines shortening the life of both and the effectiveness of your machine. The more residue build up, the less effective a garment can be cleaned. Residue build up is also a great place for bacterial growth. One of the reasons you might have stiff clothes when drying without softeners or your clothes don’t smell fresh is that the detergent hasn’t been fully rinsed out. Don’t overload.More detergent doesn’t mean more cleaning. Longer wash time does. If you have hard water get a water softener or use washing soda to soften water so you get better cleaning and rinsing. Use White vinegar in place of the commercial softeners. It will eventually help remove all the built up residue and has some softening effects without residue. You will be surprised how much cleaner and softer your clothes are once the residues are gone. If you need fragrance on your clothes, put a few drops of essential oil on a cloth and throw in dryer with your clothes. Use dryer balls(tennis balls work). They also help “soften” and fluff clothes and decrease drying time.

@@BronxFinest2481 Also I heard from a repairman that the vinegar will eventually destroy your rubber hoses causing them to become dry and brittle. Don't know if it's true or not. I do use fabric softener but occasionally run towels through with just vinegar. I can't stand stiff staticy clothes.
