Hi Mark, as always an awesome video and job, useto really like working on UFH , remember going for a couple of days to uponor to also learn about there UFH systems , when I done jobs I really liked them providing a full layout of how the UFH pipes should be spaced / laid , for some reason found it very therapeutic laying the manifold out along with ensuring all the pipes where installed just so, same as your good self where u take such pride and attention to each and every job , such a joy watching ur videos mark , also useto really enjoy fault finding and being like a detective , lol, some of my favourite jobs were the nightmare ones where previous companies couldn’t diagnose what was wrong , then getting that fantastic feeling of pride and seeing a very happy customer once the error has been resolved , thks again and look forward to the next one , stay safe and well

@@MJTiffPlumbing , ur so welcome , must confess haven’t heard of the snug systems before , will be interesting to see if the pins stick over time , admittedly always used either uponor or Honeywell controls , alas know Honeywell went through issues at one time on there 2 & 3 ports along where the actuator balls would swell up when they came into contact with fernox , plus don’t know if u come across it a lot where previous people have cut out massive notches in the floor joists , particular under the bath where the waste pipe is, then having to sister a joist in to repair there bodges , thks again for sharing an insight into ur workdays, stay safe and well

@@MJTiffPlumbing we have to divide the joist on to 5 Equal sections, number them from 1 to 5 from the left and no one is allowed to drill in section 1,3 and 5. Hi mark, the gun jams when the staple swings out of the chamber as you press. It will happen a lot more to you because you are holding the gun the wrong way round. Turn it so the staples are facing away from you so they naturally lean into the chamber and you will find it will jam less often.

Am I missing something, coming from someone who is trying to fix a damp floor problem in house from no DPM. Have you not just punctured the membrane 100 times, so there may aswell have been no membrane laid at all? Builder shouldn't have bothered there's 200 quid saved

Yep, you are missing something….. this is how all staple UFH systems are laid buddy👍🏼👍🏼
@dgmclar
@dgmclar Жыл бұрын
@@MJTiffPlumbing so I'm missing nothing, it's how all systems are laid so you have done nothing wrong and done it the right way but it completely destroys the DPM... Doesn't seem a good way to do it, it should be done using velcro tabs and I'm not a builder or plumber but it's not rocket science to see a membrane that's supposed to be sealed to keep out damp absolutely destroyed and compromised with 1,000 staples put in it. It may aswell have not been laid at all tbh
@MJTiffPlumbing
@MJTiffPlumbing Жыл бұрын
As said, yes you are missing something….. There is a thick DPM laid down, then the insulation, then the top layer of DPM….. The top layer hasn’t been “completely destroyed” it’s been punctured by clips that will seal to a degree….. however as there is a thick DPM between the concrete floor and the insulation this is not a problem what so ever….it’s how it’s done.
@robertfield5237
@robertfield5237 Жыл бұрын
The dpm is below the insulation the membrane mark is clipping his pipes too is usually just there for liquid screed jobs this is very common practice it’s not a damp membrane
