Ciao everyone! Today I'm sharing styling tips and ideas to layer creatively for fall. Hopefully these layering styling tips for fall help you use the clothes you already have in your closet to create unique fall outfits without shopping!

*I am sharing links to my loafers in the video below because I truly love them and have been getting questions about them on IG! But I hope the biggest takeaway from this video is learning style TOOLS to use what you already have, and not buying more STUFF. My wardrobe is specific to me and my tastes - yours will be different! And that is great because fashion is about creativity and expression! NB: some of these items are affiliate links and I will make a small commission if you make a purchase. This is part of my strategy to make valuable slow fashion content free. A lot of these items listed below are not the actual product because most of my items are either very old or secondhand, so I've tried to find the most similar item.
Thank you for watching! xx
On this channel, I share #slowfashion and #sustainablefashion tips that center around how to #shopyourcloset, and restyling pieces you already own. I also spotlight brands that I believe in every now and then. I believe in #creativityoverconsumption, and that we all have the power to be conscious consumers.
Slow fashion looks different for everyone, and I'm so grateful you share this space with me!

Love layering an open button up, like a denim shirt or chambray shirt under a blazer. Feels comfortable, with a sort of corporate vibe without being stiff or buttoned up.

🤍Love the combo outside the office. The formality of the blazer contrasted w/the casualness of the shirt adds a 🆒️ playful punch. A jeans, chambray, or even a patterned shirt (like a polka dot, checkerboard, or buffalo check) will instantly dial down ⬇️ the formal fussiness of classic corporate wear. 🤓Like a men's slim cut button down shirt. This style reduces the ➡️boxy bulk⬅️ of an ordinary button up & neatly keeps the collar under control too. Women's shirt sleeves are frequently short on my limbs, but the men's sleeves are always longer. In both cases, I end up cuffing them under or over the blazer sleeve for extra visual interest. Usually keep the shirt unbuttoned over a ribbed razorback tank that matches the trouser & ankle boots when it chills out. If I feel more feminine, I'll knot the shirt open loose over a silky camisole that matches a skirt, tights, & taller boots instead. 😊My favorite is a black & white tweed blazer over an all black base. A blue denim shirt pulls a tiny blue weave on this jacket out. Plus, a red scarf🧣 will bring out the petite dots of red weave too. 😉There's always topping it off w/a hat too. A knit cap when feeling more boyishly grunge. A beret when feeling more feminine. A coordinating🧢 cap when feeling sassy. A wool trilby hat, mittens🧤 & loafers when wanting a retro vibe. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

It's incredibly rare for me to click on videos, despite the content, just because I enjoy the KZbinr. But it always works that way for your video- you have a calm about you, but equally important, you are always coming up with news ideas that I can easily apply or try out, and we have similar styles, but you have a bit more edge and playfulness that helps me break out of my comfort zone! Although I have to say, I love seeing another girl as obsessed with wearing button downs like me. :)

As a fellow Canadian, I have worn a lightweight denim jacket under a blazer for many years. A denim shirt works just as well, and if the blazer is a textured wool or even better, a tweed, the duo is magic 🤩

I've been doing the double-jacket/layer one over the other look (usually my denim jacket under my wool coat) since the 90's! Who knew I was so fashion forward 🤣!!??!!

Great video as always. As a child of the 50s and 60s I saw collars layered over lapels and did that for a long time. Now I mix it up according to my mood. As I lose weight, I am layering more. PS I am enjoying your course very much. . It is a great review of the lessons that you have taught me over the years., If someone is new to your channel, they should purchase the course and catch up on all of your amazing knowledge . By the way, you did not charge enough. This course is priceless.

Monica Vinader has that Baroque Pearl charm for $138. They also have some that are $98. If that's out of your budget. Then etsy has them as cheap as $10. But the $10 ones the findings won't be made from gold or gold vermeil. All depends on what quality you're willing to pay for.

Also, I just layered necklaces for the first time in my life today!! I was about to Google how to layer jewelry but decided just to try. I inadvertently came up with a pair of necklaces similar to what you wear in this video (one thicker chain and one pendant) but in silver 🥰 Mixing metals would require much courage from me! But a tip I remember from one of Justine Leconte's older videos - rose gold goes well with both yellow gold and silver, so it may be an easier way to start 😊 I personally don't have anything in rose gold, but maybe that helps someone else who is also in the mood for experiments today ❤

Love these tips, thank you ❤ I've been thinking about layering my denim jacket on top of a sweater for too long and now the weather where I live is too cold for that 🥶 Luckily, now I get to layer my denim jacket UNDER a coat 😂 Note to myself to try it sooner while it's not too cold for that either 😂 P.S. to me silk with faux fur is a much more dramatic combination than sheer + leather, but will try it nevertheless! Thinking of an occasion where it would be appropriate to wear, maybe a theater night?

Unless I have on high waisted jeans, I like wearing my belts a little lower than my natural waistline because I am short and short waisted. Not as big at the hips and thighs. Enjoyed this video.

Loved this video! Would love to belt jackets or other things but I am a little short-waisted and I wonder what you would recommend? Should I try a narrower belt or just not do it at all?

😊Me too. A thin belt works best for us over a blazer. I like using a men's leather braided belt bcos it allows me to cinch it in exactly where I need it every time w/o having to add a new hole. Next, I use a coordinating or clear elastic hair band as a loop to corral any of the extra flap. It keeps things nice & neat. Men's belts are frequently made of better quality. Can often find belts of different waist sizes too. In my experience, women's belts frequently come in one size fits all. Plus, they don't last as long & can be more expensive. ⏳️ As an hourglass, my belts are a workhorse. They need to be sturdy bcos they take a lot of abuse😖. With button ups & trousers, I usually have to size up to fit breast/hips w/o any stress. In both cases, that typically leaves a lot of volume I need to reduce at the waist. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

@@elliotm1608lots of us do, especially with a wool or tweed blazer. Instead of a denim jacket, a denim shirt works well. I’ve worn the denim and blazer duo for 3 decades
