I am so amazed and proud of myself that i was able to lift one knee in the "crow pose with head on ground" and hopefully i'll be able to do this till the end and end up in handstand , thankyou so much!

This looks great. I am 64 and have shoulder issues. I can remember doing these when I was younger. Can't now. Help. Thanks. Everett

I'm 68 yrs old and I just can't do this. I'm not as flexible as when I was younger.

My shoulders can't seem to take it anymore. I try and listen to my body but still, I would love to do this just once.

This is so helpful! Could you do one of these for a handstand? And love you content ❤

Hey I actually already kinda did, here is a breakdown of all the handstand shorts I've done in the order that I think they are most helpful in. How do I get over that fear that I’m gonna snap my neck? I know I’m supposed to keep my head to where I could slide a piece of paper under it and it’s not actually on the ground but I just don’t get it. I can do a handstand but not this! Edit - also I should say thank you first of all for even taking the time to teach us! Sorry didn’t want to sound ungrateful, I appreciate you Charlie!
@CharlieFollows11 ай бұрын
Hey I’ve never heard that you should be able to slide a piece of paper under the head, my head is firmly on the ground when I am practicing. As for getting over the fear I recommend revisiting part 1 and working through that drill to build your confidence and strength. As you start to feel more capable you will slowly master your fear. I hope this helps.

@@CharlieFollows a yoga teacher back when I was in college (so like, forever ago) told me that and it’s just stuck with me but you’re now the second person that’s told me I don’t need to do that. I think she was saying it as a way to explain not putting _toooo_ much weight on your head but now all I can ever focus on is making sure I’m not dumping my entire load on my neck. I will revisit step one and discard that old advice!!! Thank you Charlie!
@CharlieFollows11 ай бұрын
I think his or her intention was good, we don't want to dump all the weight into the head but I think a better focus is to press through the hands to evenly distribute the weight through the foundation of the pose so it isn't all in your head. @@ItBeThatWaySometimes

you can do that with the traditional yoga headstand shape where your forearms are on the ground. your head has to carry a lot less weight that way

Hello, when i go into my headstands I always do a little jump, but I have read and heard you should not do that. Is it bad? When Im in the headstand I feel still and strong, I can stay for a long time in a full headstand. But I am scared I am not doing it correctly!
@natashakillip11 ай бұрын
I self taught myself headstands, and I started doing them that way too. I don’t think it matters as long as you do it safely. I have now learned to do it the other way. I think people are taught to not kick up, because there’s more of a chance you’ll stack it 😂 But you should be fine as long as your form is correct.
@CharlieFollows11 ай бұрын
Hey if you can control the jump then it is okay, I try to teach people not to jump because I don't want them to lose control and potentially hurt themselves if they haven't practiced headstand much.

I cant do this pose. I find it very painful when my knees are pushing against the back of my upper arms
