@mahodgy3 жыл бұрын
I believe it is worth mentioning Roshi can establish plus frames from his grounded normals using his leaps. 2H > 2 leap is +1 on block, not only allowing him to combo after hit confirming but also to get out for free if the opponent doesn't have a meaty setup on their oki. The more blockstun the move has the more he's +. 5S is probably the best example of this, he's +3 or +5 with 5S > 4 leap sequence.

Hey guys anyone who would like to help me My Main team right now is Roshi B Yamcha A and Baseku C i use baseku C beacuse of muscle memory for the combos i practiced with roshi day one and it really helps me besides it's a beam My composition is Roshi B point Yamcha A mid Baseku C anchor I don't want any "don't use c assists you're a Scrub or whatever i just wanted some help in should i change the order? Maybe Yamcha on point or baseku on point just to have roshis assist? Or is it good where it's at? And for how the characters work should i change an assist maybe yamcha's?
@Spawnamvs3 жыл бұрын
@@nikopteros1659 At the end of the day, youre running a weird composition imo. Yamcha and Baseku are both really good anchors and I dont usually use either one of them mid. Thats just me but if im just looking at it, I'd say keep your team comp as is. Roshi builds a lot of meter to help Yamchad do wolf fang fuck neutral and his B assist enables you to throw it out safely. Overall, i think you're fine how you are and should just lab it until you find something better or get great with the team

@@nikopteros1659 No problem! You could definitely stick with the team but make sure to protect Roshi! His lvl 2 into Yamcha lvl 1 gives you a free dragon rush for a knockdown so I think that should be your goal. Build meter, tag in Yamcha, wolf fang fuck their character. Rinse and repeat until you chuck a spirit bomb at them. Yamchas spirit bomb confirm is kind of hard but manageable so I think you got this!
@nikopteros16593 жыл бұрын
@@Spawnamvs that's actually a good idea for a gameplan, that's actually one of the reasons i picked yamcha instead of krillin for my kamehouse team 1 beacuse i just love yamcha and he's my main boi and 2 beacuse him and roshi can combo into spirit bomb

@caldw6153 жыл бұрын
The muscle memory for neutral and combos are difficult to get rid of when literally every other character in the game has combo patterns and Superdash. We've spent years getting used to the other characters and Roshi just feels very different.

@Ramona1220033 жыл бұрын
While you joke, the main issue with Roshi is that you have to work harder to do things that other characters can do much easier. So it isn't like Ginyu where he's hard to learn, but he does things that no other character can really do.
@Ty-sv7kf3 жыл бұрын
@@Ramona122003 sort of? Roshi is "hard" because you have to pick specific superdash options instead of just superdashing, but 99% of the time that replacement is vastly superior to a regular superdash if you can land it. all of roshi's superdash alternatives have superior properties to a standard superdash. the rest of roshi's moveset is super strong and much easier to use than many other characters. you dont need to think nearly as hard about using his DP because it's so tricky to deal with, his crossups are hard to block and much more consistent to perform than many similarly strong crossups such as Tien's thanks to his aerial 4M and hops. He does a ton of damage off almost any hit and has two very strong level 1s (and a strong level 2). So overall his strengths really stand out, the "weakness" of not having a superdash is simply a skill barrier rather than an actual flaw (most of the time), and in fact it is a strength once you get past that, his DP is so strong it is practically cheese, and he does a ton of damage. And of course, if you really can't play Roshi in spite of all that, his B assist alone is more than worth having a character you can't play on your team, since it lets you fuck up constantly and win anyways as long as you aren't playing against people who are crazy good. The only reason Roshi isn't picked more is that people don't want to switch to a new character after all these years unless that character is beyond exceptionally strong or easy to use like UI. Kefla is another criminally underpicked character for the same reason, though she's probably much weaker than Roshi. Roshi is exactly like Ginyu in that he does things no other character can do, like stay in after superdash out of sparking, except unlike Ginyu he has very few actual flaws and doesn't break when someone knows the matchup.

@@Ty-sv7kf His The only reason Roshi isn't picked more is that people don't want to switch to a new character after all these years"
@jimmy5643213 жыл бұрын
@@Ty-sv7kf roshis cross up is hard to block? Not really it's relatively slower than an iad and you always block high to block 4m at first. Also even lk has said his mixup game isnt the best. Also imo he isnt the best against people super jumping a lot has no actually way to ground an opponent without using a high risk unblockable. I guess you could use 6s but I rarely hit an airborne opponent using that. however his dp is godlike and damage is solid if you learn the optimal routes solid character but definently has his flaws more reasons why people dont use his other than the super dash. Also his frame data is not that good hes super negative on every medium and -6 or higher on the 5ll I'll have to check that though. So only his 2l and 5l have good frames for staggers. One more thing I dont agree on is the fact that you cant use him just as an assist if you dont know how to play him. That what I did while learning him and opponents of equal or higher strength will notice that whenever he hits the field. If I see you dont actually know how to play roshi anytime in a set I'm snapping him in the moment I touch you. Edit: yeah I just checked 5ll is negative 7 on block. Not only that but his 2l is negative 4 and 5l is negative 5 so not much in the way of staggering at all.

I wish you could explain without using fight stick terminology for the people who don’t have or use a fightstick? I don’t know what tf 5s or 22h means. It isn't just for fight stick. It's called numpad notation I believe. Where the numbers are directions, i.e 2=Down, 6=Forward, and 4=Back, and the letters are Light, Medium, Heavy.... So 5S would be standing special and 22H would be down down heavy
