tip: if you do a single f or do fff, your character will neutral guard at close ranges, so you can kinda safely approach doing either, as long as you don't get clipped during the second f in an fff, so you should practice doing fff as fast as possible
@Ryan-tc2el

@@zerosyalen3646 I have heard of this but it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm having the dummy do df1 into a jab, and I am blocking and then pressing f and going back to neutral in 1-2 frames -- and I'm still getting hit even though it's a gap of 10 frames or more.

I swear. BDC/KBD is the most goofy looking movement in Tekken. Makes me wish that backdash was actually good on it's own rather than needing to cancel out/into another one over and over. Oh well. Thanks for sharing.
@MegaCityGhost
@MegaCityGhost 8 ай бұрын
Well, it's actually pretty good in T8. KBD is still somewhat faster, but not nearly as much as in T7. Especially since KBD itself got slowed down somewhat. So I believe just spamming back is actually gonna be a viable option in T8.
@concrete490
@concrete490 8 ай бұрын
@@MegaCityGhost I do agree it's better in 8 but I also think KBD looks faster. I Could be wrong but it didn't look less effective (slower) when Knee was doing it during the showcase but maybe it depends on the character.
@MegaCityGhost
@MegaCityGhost 8 ай бұрын
@@concrete490 It does depend on the character, but overall in T8 you just have to let the BD animation rock a little before you cancel it, so if you KBD too fast you won't go anywhere in terms of distance. And yes, it's still faster than simple backdashing, I did acknowledge that in my comment. I just said that I THINK that simple backdashing MIGHT be usable now, unlike in T7.

So if y'all want a good character to do this with in T8, I think dragonov is a good candidate. His jabs and df1 move him forward quite a bit. He has a DF1 extension in df1,4 that will clip you if you sidestep at the wrong time and his DB 4 is really similar to Kazumi's.

I hope we'll be able to save behavior patterns for the lab dummy in T8, because the sheer amount of menuing required just for 5 min of practice makes me not want to do it. That, as well as the general lack of options for the dummy's behavior, are the main reasons I hate labbing.

I use SSL(P1)/SSR(P2) to check when my frames are recovered, especially when coming from crouch. It does cost a few frames but you can always cancel SS into literally anything. I feels good to accidentally frame-perfect SS an incoming point blank attack. Use sparingly though, characters with strong df2's can punish the hell out of this option. If you cancel fast enough, it's not bad but expect to get launched every now and then until you get used to the inputs.
