When I first reviewed your material, I didn't really grasp the nuances. But now I see the wisdom in it. It seems like you've distilled down the best aspects of Moe Norman and Ben Hogan into something new and more manageable. Thanks for the lessons.

Congratulations Kirk, very complete video from beginning to end, well explained and for all types of swing. For my part, since I started using the simple plane method, my game has improved more and more, I dropped from 15 to 20 strokes and last weekend I did 75 for the first time. I feel like a Pro, except the putter that sometimes I want to throw it in the water, well, happy is little and as we say in Spanish. GRACIAS TOTALES!!!

Hi Kirk, I learned the Moe’s single plan. I prefer your single plan, much easier for the body. Thanks!
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
It is much easier to learn than Moe's swing. I have seen people trying to copy Moe for ten years who never came close. I want people to improve as quickly as possible.

I was telling Kirk earlier today I tested this method on the range for about 30 minutes to days ago, and this morning I played and decided no matter how bad or good I hit it I was going to try to play his style for 18 holes. I may have not hit a lot of greens in regulation but I ended up around the green so many times today that I had somewhere around 26 but after I actually added them up I thought I had less but I had 26, 130 yard par three over the swamp which is very wet around the green I’m very rarely get close almost had a hole-in-one the nine iron was not going but 130 with my previous two plane swing in today I actually had to adjust after two holes because I was hitting it like 145 and right at the flag even my driver was quite long with a real nice draw, I even worked it into my putter and I found I really had a lot of control over the face so I’m gonna stick with this I need to work on the range more.

Kirk have you ever used Sterling one length irons? Your explanation and set ups are wonderful and I am thinking that one length irons would take all the guess work from ball position. Keep the videos coming!
@Setup4Impact5 жыл бұрын
Hi Les, I like the concept of Same length irons but when I went for a fitting I could not hit the 4 iron farther than my normal 6 iron. So I chose to play conventional irons. I do have many customers who are happy with same length irons, many with Sterlings. I generally would recommend them now for golfers who struggle to break 100 for 18 holes. If possible get fit for whatever clubs you purchase. I also have a video on club fitting here on my youtube channel or on my website at learninggolf.tv/setup-4-impact-golf-method-info/club-fitting-info/

Mr. Kirk, have you written a book? If so where can I buy it?

Great video Kirk. When I straighten my wrists my club gets up on the toe. Do I need to get clubs fitted for this style of swing?
@Setup4Impact2 жыл бұрын
The club at impact would be in the same position either way. Setup is to match your current impact position. So it is likely showing that your clubs are too flat to begin with. I would have them checked.

Great video and really informative I'm having good success with this method. Can I just ask Kirk do you square your club face at the target at address and position golf ball out of centre or do you line up near hosel?
@Setup4Impact5 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, I setup with the hosel more in line with the ball. This works for me as it helps take into account the shaft bend at impact that is not there at setup. Setup 4 Impact!!

Hi Kirk i had a round yesterday and some of my iron shots were amazing .Problem is my driver was all over the place and destroyed my round.I dont know if its the longer shaft thats maybe making me take it away the wrong way. How do you start the take away ,i think im maybe just taking away with my arms a lot of the time,Should i try the one piece take away using turning legs and upper body at the same time all in one movement ,then turn from the feet /legs on the way down
@Setup4Impact2 жыл бұрын
Maybe the driver does not fit you? There are dozens of possible reasons that your driver is not working. I use the same swing for irons and woods. I would recommend looking at impact to make sure that the grip is leading through impact even with the driver.
@daverosenthal22094 жыл бұрын
Kirk, do you have a rule of thumb for how much to bend forward at the torso, and/or how far to extend my arms? Is it simply whatever feels natural? I find myself manipulating my stance on every shot and with every club trying find the “correct” distance from the ball. Thank you.
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, When doing the drills you make practice swings which helps you find your ideal distance from the ball. Your forward bend is individual to you. Most people are between 20 and 40 degrees. I like to look at impact to see what forward bend you have and then have you setup at that angle. This is what I do for my members sending in videos, and in schools and lessons.
@douglashuff72804 жыл бұрын
So in this video you suggest a 40-45* angle for trail hand slightly under the grip but in another video you suggest the palms of the hands being opposed with the back of the trail hand directly away from the target line? Which is correct?
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
There is a range of grip possibilities that will work based on your own abilities. One grip does not fit all. So in my learning program I talk about customizing the grip to fit your needs. Hold the right too much under and you will likely hook the ball. Get the palms more opposing and it will likely go straight. Someone used to slicing will likely need the right more under.
@dominicgalligan45485 жыл бұрын
Hi will the grip change if you can’t turn as much in the backswing? Thanks
@Setup4Impact5 жыл бұрын
More likely that it will change if you cannot turn through the shot very well. I can be different for every golfer. Just need to make sure that the club is square through impact without having to manipulate the clubhead.
@guitar19505 жыл бұрын
Kirk, your recommendation to use the overlap or Vardon grip conflicts with Moe's grip. Can you comment more on that? Moe believed a ten finger grip was best.
@Setup4Impact5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, Moe Norman competed throughout his entire golf career with an overlapping grip. He switched to ten finger in around 1995 when he was sponsored by Natural Golf corporation as that is what they taught. Any picture of Moe from before 1995 will show the overlapping grip as you can also see at dailydsports.com/moe-norman/
