You can do that, but Lexus made the knuckle as non-serviceable and it's not supposed to be taken out and a new one put back in. Aftermarket companies started making ball joints that fit in there and you can press in. The convenience is if someone doesn't have a press or access to one they don't have to deal with all that. There's also no downtime with just swapping in a whole new knuckle. Lastly you can get the OEM knuckles for around $220 each. So is $220 for a brand new knuckle worth it vs the price of new ball joints, the time cost of labor, pressing in, pressing out, etc.

Definitely. I don't think enough lomg term testing was done or they ran out of time to change anything and just ran with it

​@@LILEVO Pretty sure they went with a a design that makes this cost more. The previous version(LS430) has 2 bolts holding the ball joint to the knuckle. You don't need to press anything, just disconnect the control arm from the ball joint with a separator tool.

@LILEVO I sent you a pm. I hear toyota counterfeit parts are prevalent. I would hope shipping out of Japan makes that less likely. I found fault in warranty valve spring job they did for 2007/2008; they don't replace hi speed fuel pump plate gasket to valve. Since getting stroked on other things from Lexus; would luv to save $$
