Just registered with LFM after getting into ACC this past month. Still learning and improving and working on some car setups but love the information you bestow upon all of us watching. Great format and excellent tips. Going to try for that Rookie LFM license in the near future, but only after i feel comfortable enough to keep the required pace consistently. As of now, i'm still 4 or 5 seconds off the pace.

Tip 14.5: if you cannot keep the car behind pace, let pass. You'll never see that even at gold. Another tip: if orange name apear in your mfd sheet, do not defend. I saw a lot of these drivers, fighting for non existential position. LFM rookie level is like public lobbies, so this video shoud be promotedon LFM webpage on behavior section. And btw waving is not prohibited in warmup lap, waving is when the defending car is blocking multiple times the faster car from overtaking.

Look man, ACC doesn't need very much to run well HOWEVER you will need to compromise on the visuals of the race... meaning you'll get massively more FPS if you make the game show less cars and have to render less because of it . I don't have that issue since I have a big fat godzilla GPU (RX 6900XT with 16GB of overclocked VRAM) but when I played on the 8GB RX 6600XT I had previously I could play just fine with FSR on 1440p and some graphics compromises... as for a CPU just go with a Ryzen 5000 series and you'll be fine and saving some bucks unless you wanna go for a new age motherboard that supports DDR 5 Ram which is a good upgrade and supports the new Ryzen 7000 series CPU chips... but you'll be fine even with the older MoBo and a 5000 series chip... and personally I'm a fan of AMD on CPUs rather than intel, find them more VFM . As for a wheel and pedals, if you're just starting out, the Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm bundle for 500$ or Euros is the only way to go... Moza R9 is also good but it's a little bit more expensive and from people's accounts that have used both wheels they say Moza is a bit more powerful at 9Nm instead of 8 but the Fanatec Direct Drive is much smoother and feels a bit more refined... I have the Fanatec CSL DD with the McLaren GT3 wheel which is the most VFM wheel on the market by a mile at 200EUR that I bought it and it's perfect for ACC... Sim racing ain't cheap but the minimum budget you need for a PC and wheel & Pedals is around 1500-1700$ if you include a decent monitor (if you don't have one). Personally I would say unless you're seriously loaded don't be tempted to go for a super high end wheel base and pedals sim rig off the bat... for 99% of the people the CSL DD which is the cheapest high quality direct drive on the market is more than enough... the moment you'll touch the wheel for the first time you'll have an orgasm (at least I did coming from an old belt driven Thrustmaster) . P.S. DO NOT BUY AN OLD BELT DRIVEN TO SAVE SOME BUCKS... IT'S REALLY REALLY REALLY NOT WORTH IT... SAVE UP FOR THE REAL DEAL I hope I helped 😁

@sportschool3537

@@SimracingArnout Thanks man, most people are a little bit clueless on how to build a proper PC... for example getting a new GPU is sooooo worthless now... I got mine second hand about 6 months ago and only cost me 500EUR while new it would be close to 800... why the hell would I buy a new one... sometime in the near future I'll just sell mine for around 400 and buy a newer used one for 600-700 and the cycle keeps going... There are a lot of ways to save on budget when making a PC... especially if you aren't afraid to put it together yourself and not buy a fully kitted one... that's a 20-25% extra cost right there... So the video would be well appreciated by many, I'm sure 😁

Because of a combination of my own skill and the car I like to drive (big up the boat), I'm consistently one of the slowest on track at all times. I personally disagree with 14. I can't keep up with anyone behind me, so by your rule, I'd be letting everyone past. I won't ever do anything stupid, but if you can't get past, you stay behind me. Everyone behind me hates me for it but I'm entitled to defend my position and I will do just that. If I didn't, I'd just be driving by myself, and if I wanted to drive by myself, I'd stay in singleplayer. The only cars that get past for free are cars on different classes or different laps

Thanx for your comment, im assuming your not changing lines under braking or blocking on purpose other racers shouldnt be hating on you, i wasnt saying let (everybody) pass but when i drive a hard race in a higher split and an alien chasing me somtimes i gain more pace then instead keep fighting and getting into contact sometimes

@@SimracingArnout Not moving under braking or anything like that. They just don't like me because of how much I'm holding them up. The way I see it, I'm already at the back and I won't be moving forwards, so I might as well fight with the 2 or 3 behind me

@@lukefisher8417 You seem to have missed the point of my comment. Regarding qualifying, why are there no penalties for slowing down on racing line before starting a hot lap (the first 10-15 cars that wait to create gaps for themselves). Only rules about that in actual racing rules are that you are not allowed to impede others by driving unnecessarily slow, so a lot of cars making gaps just before the last corner on the racing line is not in the rules, is it? And it is not in the LFM code of conduct either, so where is it said that this is the standard practice? The only place for that in real life would in the pre race weekend driver meeting, if it were agreed by all the drivers and race control. And for that matter if you watch F1 that has caused quite a few penalties both in qualifying and in practice sessions, granted that in F1 it does not generally happen at the start of the session, but later when it is possible that the car behind is on a fast lap.
@SimracingArnout
@SimracingArnout Жыл бұрын
Yeah now you say it.. it is a solid point, for me it feels like a sportmanship thing to do in the quallifing. And when later in qualli you indeed should not wait on the racing line.. good question for the lfm discord
@akiraunio5227
@akiraunio5227 Жыл бұрын
@@SimracingArnout Simple(ish) solution. Add it to the code of conduct. In any qualifying session, when no driver has had time to start a flying lap, overtaking is not allowed unless the car in front clearly indicates that he wants to stay back either by moving away from the racing line and slowing down and/or using the indicator lights to let the car behind know that he is making space. Feel free to post the question, I'm sure you have more clout there.
