I cleaned them with a little rubbing alcohol,let dry then wipe with a soft towel" without removal". It worked for me as I put in a large load,the sensor added 34 minutes B/C it was not dry. Before cleaning, 41 min. to 2 minutes in just 3 minutes total! Try this first!

Thank you! I ordered some replacement bars online and installed them today.. It now works great. I noticed that there was a little bit of lint buildup on the backside of the old sensors... To be honest, I kind of wonder if whether cleaning that would have fixed the problem. I went ahead and saved the old ones just in case they were still good. Either way, the dryer is now working great. Thank you for your video!

How can you tell if the part is not good? Can I put a tester on it or something else? My Amana dryer is showing a E5 code...I have changed the heater core, the thermistor and the fuse and put it all back together and it still shows the same code so I was thinking of the guide sensor

Can you clean the sensors, test them? They are passive metal pieces that could be coated with anti cling goop from dryer sheets. The sensors could be fine, but upstream Electronics or sensors could bed the problem.

I replaced mine. But it didn’t work. Same thing. Dryer goes from 41 min to 19 and 2 all in a few minutes. Maybe the thermostat?

Check the entire exhaust path from the lint screen to the vent outside. If clogged with lint the path gets too hot and the dryer shuts off.

Would this be causing the heat sensor to pop out? I have to take the back off the dryer and pop the heat sensor button back in before every load and then it will heat again

It's possible. I would start with trying to thoroughly clean the sensor to see if that helps. Dryer sheets are notorious for coating the sensors. If that doesn't help give us a call and we'll help you figure out what's causing the problem. We offer free technical advice and diagnosis. You can give us a call at 1-877-477-7278 or you can chat us at our website: www.appliancepartspros.com/. It ended up being the heating coils. The temperature was coming up to 129, not enough heat to drying in 40 minutes. After replacing the coils the heat is now coming up to 140+.

Auto-dry is not working on my whirlpool dryer. I went into diagnostic mode to check for error codes and there is none. Could this still be a problem with the sensor? Is the fault code supposed to register correctly? I am concerned there could be another problem since the fault code is not coming up.

You can give us a call at 1-877-477-7278 or you can chat us at our website: www.appliancepartspros.com/. We will need the model number for the appliance, so that we can look up the part and how to go about the repair. If we have a repair video for that, we'll give it to you too.

.. "If it's corroded or damaged and not sending a signal to the board." -Matt in the video However I agree that this is ridiculous. I bet if you thoroughly remove and clean it along with the assembly it will be good as new. Over time they probably get dirty or start to rust just enough that the delicate reading they send are slightly different.

If you mean the wires at 1:50 in the video, they should simply come off when you tug them. Can you tell what's causing the resistance? Are they gunked up with anything, maybe?

I have a Maytag Intellidry Dryer (model LDE8606ACE). It recently has stopped automatically shutting off during the Intellidry setting. It drys, but won't shut off. It works on the timed setting, just not the Intellidry setting. Is it a bad moisture sensor? If so, where is it located and how do I change it? (I'm pretty handy, don't be scared.)
@appliancepartspros8 жыл бұрын
Like the dryer in the video the sensor is right inside the door. You can try taking it off and cleaning behind it and cleaning the metal strips, also check all the wire connections. If it still does not work it may be one of the controls. You can post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem. forum.appliancepartspros.com/

Is it the grill cover that you're having a hard time removing? It may help to use your phone to take a few pictures of the inside, from the same angle we have our camera placed. That way you can see where all the screws are and make sure that you have removed them all.

I was able to look up the grill cover for your model. It looks a different than the one in this video, but it looks like it also has three screws that need to be removed, one on each side and one in the middle. Once those three screws are removed, it should be able to be pulled free. Here's a video where we replace a similar lint filter cover: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJDPe32Prqiie5I . As you can see, Matt has to push forward to get it to pop free. If it's not coming loose, I would think it's because it's gunked up with build up from dryer sheets and the like.
