Your tooling is the best I’ve seen, absolutely amazing. Being relatively new to tooling, I have an appreciation for the care and work involved, but man your crafting is next level! The lines, the detailing, the antiquing, just insane. Time to go practice some more…

Thank you very much, that means a lot! I’m still practicing and learning every day, I don’t think it ever stops. Keep at it and I hope I can be of some help along the way!

The way you explain your process is one of the best. 🔥 also where did you get that font lettering?

Crazy story lol earlier today I went to message you to ask when fall orders would be open. I got side tracked watching shorts and neglected to message you. I checked my email an hour ago to see my olight order and come across your email saying all fall orders are finished. No sweat just a funny story. Quinn Gibson on this end. Love your products. Thanks for all the wonderful work you do.

Oh dang! Yeah my spots were taken fairly quick. They were all full within an hour of sending out the email notification. I’d be more than happy to work with you on something custom in 2024 when I reopen more spots! Thank you a ton for your continued support! And thank you for supporting this channel as well!!

You don't seem to have all the proper tools but you have a sewing machine I like it I think I'm jealous

Do you have any templates for your patterns on the belts with adding a name to it?
@Girtyleatherco8 ай бұрын
At the moment the only templates I have available are a few floral belt patterns that I recently added to my website

Have you ever used kip skin? I lined a guitar strap with it and love it. It is so soft and supple but strong as well.

I haven’t used it before, but I have heard that!

Do you add length from your center hole to the tip, especially in cases where you’re tooling? An example would be tooling someone’s initials or last name at the tip, so when they pass it through the buckle it will show. If you do add length, how much?
@Girtyleatherco10 ай бұрын
I usually give 7 inches from the center hole to the tip. It can sometimes depend on the type of buckle someone uses, but if they’re in the center hole, that is usually plenty for just initials. I will sometimes go up to 8 but more than that could start to be too much overhang in my opinion.

The leather weight, approx. at 14:45; that is lying on the table. How heavy is it and what did you fill it with? Your leather belts are awesome, so beautifully embossed and painted. Fantastic!

Thank you I appreciate that! It is maybe 2 lbs and it’s just some scrap leather full of metal BB’s and sewn up around the edges

What stamps are you using for your letters?
@Girtyleatherco7 ай бұрын
I draw them out with pencil then carve and tool them. I prefer that method over letter stamps personally

You're less likely to damage the blade by cutting into something plastic than granite or marble. As a pro knife sharpener I tell people to dispose of granite. glass cutting boards. If the material you're cutting is harder than the blade then the blade will get blunt. That aside. Great video buddy! Thanks for sharing.

Hey bud, do you have a link for you letter stamp set?

I actually just free hand draw them out and tool them but you might check out Alden’s Leather Supply! I’ve seen some people using their stencils and they look nice
