This is pure gold. Precisely what i wanted to do and didn't know how. The possibilities are endless with this technique. You can actually re-tool any track from guitar pro in daw and make it sound whatever you want. That is an insanely underrated vid.

when im done with the score, can i just export from gp8 as mp3 and will the sounds be produced by the daw or the guitar pro? Or do i have to put them into midi and into ableton and start the mixing process all over ?
@DexiPawnz9 ай бұрын
If you justt export from GP8 as MP3, just the sounds coming from GP8 will be exported. So the stuff played via midi on Ableton will have to be placed there by exporting the midi and importing it in Ableton. Then you also import the GP8 MP3 and align everything in Ableton (or whatever DAW you use). So the final mix & master will always have to be done in the DAW, but it isn't really much of an inconvenience, depending on how complicated the actual song is.

Will drums from GP work sending to a library like Superior Drummer 3 in Reaper?
@agarves2 жыл бұрын
I'll second that. I'm using Addictive Drums with Sonar. Would be great to have a way of sending the composed drums to the DAW without the need to retype them manually.
@DexiPawnz2 жыл бұрын
I personally haven't tried, but I don't see why not. There might be a bit of a learning curve as there's a chance the midi notes that you hear in GP won't always correspond with what you expect to be played in the VST, but once you map that out you can 100% use this setup for drums.

Interesting and very useful. But how can Guitar Pro and Ableton run at the same time without Asio driver interference on Ableton ? I use Cubase 12 with Asio4All, but I dont use any Asio drivers with Guitar Pro since I dont use them at the same time. If I can sync boyh I would use it to read music when I am recording in Cubase.

are you aware of a way to go from ableton directly to guitar pro? i'm mostly wanting to use midi effects in ableton like the arpeggiator or "chord" or "random" but have it end up in tabs/notation. i currently just have to settle for exporting midi from ableton and dropping into guitar pro but seeing how you linked the programs is enticing and it would be rad to have a more direct way to get my ableton midi into notation

I am struggling with getting palm muting notation to translate from Guitar Pro to the DAW - the DAW (and VSTs) essentially just treat all string hits from Guitar Pro as open strings. Any ideas how to get the DAW/VSTs to recognize string notation like palm muting?

Did you figure out a solution for this?
@DexiPawnz9 ай бұрын
No, I have no idea for that :( I don't think that the range of interpretation of midi notes is the same between any DAW and GP, unfortunately. The only way I see it is either to make use of the GP guitar sounds entirely or prepare to make the guitars in the DAW sound good separately. I do it the first way, much more simpler although, indeed, the results are much more limiting.

@@JiosX Hello, I used midi loop exactly like described in the video. When you click play in Guitar Pro you hear the sound from EZ Drummer 3. However now I changed my approach I upload only the midi drums in EZ Drummer 3 and use the humanize function which makes a night and day difference on how the drums plays. Then I export as an audio file and add it to Guitar Pro as audio track. It’s just killer to have premium instrumental backing tracks to play with.

CritqueGaming I would like to use Reaper to record my guitar while I'm playing along with a drum track in Guitar Pro 7.6. This is so I can see the drum charts going by and be able to see the notes. Being able to see the notes is the most effective way for me to stay with the rhythm events. If there is a way to do this please let me know because reaper turns the drums into piano or something. None of the notes are int the right place for drums when importing the midi file exported from guitar pro and Reaper puts the drums in the bass clef and nothing in the treble clef and leaves the staff taking up critical real estate on the screen.

Many Thanks. This is definitely something to bridge the gap but I had a question. I don't have Guitar Pro Yet but I had seen a Tutorial that showed a tonne of available Sound Settings and it appeared impressive. It would be awesome if these sounds could be replicated using Guitar Rig Pro 6 or even Amplitube because to replicate these sounds in a DAW one will need to know the exact settings of Amps , Cabinets, Filters etc. It will be awesome if a Solution is developed by Team Guitar Pro to bridge this gap further. This was the above mentioned Tutorial of RSE - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGPLZXt3hd2Yarc
@critiquegaming17652 жыл бұрын
Yes. I know Guitar Pro is not specifically geared and marketed towards MAKING MUSIC, but imo if the devteam of GP makes more features to let it integrate better in DAWs at least (if not bringing in VST support), that would send the software to the next level.
