Good day ! Detachment ,I just listen to your talk , I agree with your analysis..it is impossible to comprehend ,only if your concentration was one pointed ( like a laser is) could you make sense of what's really going on . So if you really really want to know ...the practises of self inquiry ,will take you there but you just understood that your mind was it is can not take you there. So ,back to square one ..sit and be still... Sorry, man...

Haha, thank you Dixie! It's all good! Funny that you mention that about the mind, about that not taking me there. I literally just read this quote from Ram Dass: “One of the big traps we have in the West is our intelligence, because we want to know that we know. Freedom allows you to be wise, but you cannot know wisdom, you must be wisdom. When my guru wanted to put me down, he called me ‘clever.’ When he wanted to reward me, he would call me ‘simple.’ The intellect is a beautiful servant, but a terrible master. Intellect is the power tool of our separateness. The intuitive, compassionate heart is the doorway to our unity.”

Try reading your bible and you can know at least what God wants you to know in a personal. Subjective as well as impersonal objective sense i will bet that out of all the books you have read , you haven't read the bible, there is more to it than meets the eye. It doesn't mean you put the principles of meditation aside or detachment or attachment, they are validated in scripture.. And Jesus died for the remission of sins yours and mine.
