Very much appreciate this video! I am in that group of people who are “new” and cutting the secular world off for the most part. I think because I’ve seen just how far away it took me from God and just what evil intentions the media we consume has, i just have no interest in it. I’ve been working on minimizing my belongings and being very selective with what I consume and read. Especially reading. If it’s not the Bible, it’s a book written by a prominent Catholic figure. Currently reading The Interior Castle and The Imitation of Christ and An Exorcist: More Stories. Also want to include that even though I was raised Catholic, I walked away for about 15 years and just got back to God this year. It has been a beautiful experience to be fully immersed in God’s love.

Pretty similar to my wife and I currently. Pray that the zeal of our return doesn't diminish with time....if not for you, then for me. Good to hear of your journey. Praise Christ

@@InHerLittleWay I was a cradle catholic who found my way back to protestantism. Check out the book the devil in the castle. It's a much simpler version of st Teresa of Avila's book in a sense. The author has a lot of phenomenal books. I'm striving to live a contemplative life

I love this insight! Matthew 24 into Matthew 25 is so important!!!

Something I struggle with is, if I feel like I'm not good enough and not following Jesus, then I feel like I'm not trusting in God's mercy. But if I feel like I can be accepted despite continuing to fail to do what he says, then I'm being presumptive. It feels like I'm stuck in a bind. People say that Jesus accepts you as you are but then if you don't do all these things you won't have eternal life?? 😓

I’m 14 year old does this mean I will not go to heaven because I couldn’t love and help the poor or visit those in prison?
@ddisano18 күн бұрын
@@Youmusttrulylovejesus that is a good question… please know that when Jesus asked us to help the poor, feed the hungry, cloth the naked, comfort the imprisoned, etc He meant for us to care for those who are literally poor and imprisoned, yes AND ALSO JUST AS MUCH those who are impoverished in spirit and trapped in despair like any friends or family you may know that need your love and compassion. Love your family and friends and those around you, care for them even when they’re are hard to love! I do believe that that is what Christ is saying. I imagine you are already doing a wonderful job! May God Bless and guide you in your journey!!

Not at all! Follow what Jesus Christ taught us to behave and treat others and we may just be lucky to be given permission to enter His kingdom.

What do you mean by "couldn't" ? God knows what you are capable of and what you aren't capable of. That is the standard that will be applied - "can do and didn't" is not the same as "can't do and didn't".

A. You’re not capable of that so it’s not expected of you. B. We all fall short of His standard.

@Youmusttrulylovejesus No, the problem itself isn't not helping the poor, the problem is having the opportunity to help them and not doing it, for example passing right in front of them having the opportunity to help them, and ignoring them, that is the problem. And since you're 14 you probably don't have a lot of money/recurses so don't worry, just know that if one day you see a poor person and you have the money and opportunity to help them then you should do it
