at the 2 minute mark, you move the knob to the side, so it cycles through your tracks. The record button lights up on each track. How did you set that up?
@MagpieMelodies3 жыл бұрын
This is a beta-function of Ableton, called 'Arm on Selection'. You have to enable it yourself: www.reddit.com/r/ableton/comments/7uetmc/arm_on_selection_is_an_incredible_hidden_feature/

Great!!! Sorry I have a question: How your ableton switch to auto arm automatically when you switch between tracks? Because mine doesn't move when I do it.( I have keylab essential 61 and it doesn't have Arm button like yours)
@MagpieMelodies2 жыл бұрын
HI Mehrad, I can think of two ways to do this: 1) You can use midi learn to select the 'arm' button for each track and assign it to a specific pad on the keylab essential. 2) Try to Enable Record Mode Automatically On Track Selection. This is an additional option of ableton, and it will force Ableton to arm the track that is selected. You can look up some tutorials on youtube for this setting. Hope this helps!

If you go to the MIDI-mapping menu, which channel, note/control and path is assigned to arm the track? In my case the notes range from G#1 to D2.
@robertfloroiu75073 жыл бұрын
Hei Mate. Before mapping the pads to arm the tracks, don't forget to press Shift + Pad 8 (so you switch to proper mapping for Ableton Live). I had the same problem as you and this solved it.

@MagpieMelodies2 жыл бұрын
From 6:30 onwards, the minilab video is ahead of the ableton screen due to a editing mistake, so that why these pads turned green all of a sudden :) (green means that there is an active clip in the selected track, you can play the clip by pressing the pad).

@@MagpieMelodies that's great to know Magpie. I think, the general framework of how you'd approach a song to begin with, when trying to set it up for live looping is the core I guess.
