For everyone confused by the shift key mentioned @ 1:25: - If you're using Minilab MkII, make sure you are pressing Shift key located on your Minilab, and not the Shift key on your computer keyboard. Then follow OP's instructions. - If you're using Keylab Essential, there is a different procedure. Instead of pressing and holding Shift (which doesn't exist on the device), you have to press "Map Select" button once without holding it. It is located on the left side of your Keylab device, above the first key. Once pressed, it should light up. With "Map Select" on, press Pad #2 marked as "DAW". It should light up. Once done, press "Map Select" again to confirm your changes.

There is a better way to arm tracks than by using the pads. You can use a option.txt file to enable arm on selection then you can use the regular knob 8 function of scrolling through tracks to arm them. To anyone intesrested soundsandgear has a tutorial on how to do this, just search for "ableton arm on selection" and his video should be the first result

Still doesn't recognize analog lab in ableton lite, I can select a MIDI track itself, without installing a pack, and it sees the key presses when I record, but if I go to add the instrument pack, because I don't see one for the MiniLab, and it doesn't produce sound, nor does it record the sound or the key presses on the track, I'm so lost, and it's really depressing me.

I ran into the same issue ... sort of. I think he's using a USB Midi Host-like a Kenton or a Midiplus. Plus, he might also have that connected to a USB Audio Interface-with Midi cables connecting the two devices to each other. EXAMPLE: The MKII Mini Lab Midi controller keyboard might be connected to a USB Midi Host which is connected (with Midi cables) to a USB Audio Interface which is connected to the PC by way of USB. I've been wracking my brain for the past two days just trying to figure out how exactly do people using a Midi controller keyboard get their keyboard to play the sounds from AnalogLab into Ableton Live aaaaand RECORD IT!!! I get HOW to control Ableton Live with the MKII Mini Lab Midi Keyboard controller. What NO ONE demonstrates is how to PHYSICALLY (NOT virtually) connect their gear to make them do what they're supposed to do so that Ableton Live CAN record what's being played through the MKII Mini Lab Midi Keyboard controller through the AnalogLab software into Ableton Live. * exhausted breathing *
