Thanks for doing this series on the a6700! Possible big difference is that I think all remote functions (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, app control) is disabled while USB streaming, but might (?) still work when HDMI streaming. Would love a confirmation if you've got a gimbal or remote grip that connects via Bluetooth or if you use the creators app to tweak settings remotely.

What are the relevant settings you use for livestreaming (recording resolution vs hdmi resolution)? Also the different settings for turning the menu on off through hdmi etc seem to make a difference. A short walk through video through the menu would be really helpful.
@ReachFilms

I don’t recommend recording while live-streaming as you will overheat, unless your internal recording is 1080 and your external output is 1080. To turn the menu off over hdmi you just toggle the display button until all the menus disappear so there not anything special to do that.

Note the coolers will draw about 400 to 600ma which exceeds the current of most PC USB ports (limited to 500mA). Some of the coolers can draw up to 1.1A in warm ambient environment. Overload for the USB on a PC. They should be used with a 2amp USB charger/wall wart.

The topic of my comment - very laggy 4K 25p over HDMI--> CamLink4K. Can't make the Auto Framing work unless in 1080... Great video Jeff, like your style, subbed. I'm probably keeping my A6700 and I've just bought the Ulanzi fan for the cooling when needed. My first idea of use remains - livestreaming in 4K and Auto Framing to follow me within the room - I'm playing guitar and have both steady shots with three cameras (face-left hand-right hand) and moving using 16mm Sigma --> this is where I'd need the Auto Framing. It would be great if you could address this workflow from the settings in the camera and connecting, chosing frame rates etc etc. Kinda lost at the moment.. Thanks!

Жыл бұрын
They try to make most profit they can and buy cheaper processors for their cameras , I did not have this kind of issues with Panasonic or Canon for exemple , similar price Panasonic GH5 or GH6 are running 4k60 all day , even the very old GH4 does not have any problem running 4k30 all day and that is now almost 10 years old in a body the same size as A6700 , I don't hate the A6700 as I bought it myself , but will only be using it for other work , I use the GH4 now for 4k30 streaming with a camlink , but anyhow feels like false advertising , I bought the A6700 because I like Sony Autofocus and image quality and wanted to have the 4k60 , now this 4k60 in my tests you can do between 12 to 20 minutes if you start with a cooled down camera , really disapointing , it may be because they want to have market segmentation so that you go for their more expensive cameras , or the FX30 , but is a shame in the end , most smarphones do now 4k60 without any problems

Yea this seems to be a common issue, however, depending on your need/set up etc. there is a pretty solid work around for this (that would even give you up to 27-33 mins at 4k 120, not that you’ll need that much time for a slow mo clip that’s also cheap (about 30$, worth it for the solution it provides). For instance, you can get a third party fan - Ulanzi makes a great one so does SmallRig (although this one is way bulkier than others). There are also some lesser known brands that make pretty decent fans and the good thing is they come with either different fitted cases for different cameras OR a one fits all kinda solution. Def recommend it as the a6700 is a tremendous camera all things considered.
