Dude, thank you for doing this! We had an incident yesterday and this knowledge could have come in handy. Now I know for next time.

Great advise, but a safty comment: Before you lay on Deck next to electric motor put it into the off position.

Nice tip. I fish a few electric motor only lakes near my house and it can be a tough job loading with the electric only.

Good info guys! I have had to do this on several occasions before. It’s common sense but some people just panic I guess. Just don’t hit the trailer it breaks stuff lol

There's no telling how many times I've done something like this since my old Ranger has issues with idle and when loading onto a trailer, gotta love those old Johnson outboards lol
@rogeto93516 жыл бұрын
Yep, me to. Have an old Skeeter with a 1974 Johnson does not like to idle. I have to do this every 3rd trip out.
@DivideAndConkor6 жыл бұрын
rogeto9351 yeah I have a 97 and it has the heat soak issue which is cause by them putting a V6 into a smaller form factor. I've found that if you tilt the motor way up after making a run then shake it side to side to get all the gas back out of the carbs and then set it back down it works way better next time you go to start it.

I don’t know what it’s called but my boat trailer’s roller is on a spring loaded armature that moves up and down automatically adjusting as you wench it tighter. It’s a Stratos Trail by EZ Loader and it’s the best thing ever invented for bait trailers. It should be a standard.

Where can you find one of those bow protectors?

run to the back of the boat once you pull motor - it will go up farther
@riverpirate1022 Жыл бұрын
Or instead of risking your expensive trolling motor pull the motor up way sooner and just use a mooring rope (With two people one already on land) and toss them the rope to pull the boat on the trailer to get the winch line on it. If your alone, your going to use the rope to walk the boat around to the trailer from the dock (If possible) then pull it up the trailer and then attach the winch line to winch it in. The hard part of engine failure is actually getting back to the dock, not getting on the trailer (in most cases)

Make one on how to launch with a trolling motor and a dock beside it
@roddyramirez85976 жыл бұрын
If u lower your big motor in the back a little more and have it facing straight you can steer your boat alot easier in a straight line without the back floating side to side

Is this his boat? How do you like it?

I have a pair of overalls as my "pants" if its cold, I roll them up and have 2 safety pins on them to pin them up and jump in. If I can eat a fish that's been in their for years I can damn sure jump in and get my feet wet. If its warm I wear a pair of board shorts. You gotta be damn hot casting in the sun in pants and a long sleeve. Don't be the guy at the boat dock stylin' and profilin' holding up everybody.

I use to do this cause my trailer is ghetto I can’t powerload, now I just take off my shoes and get in lol

Why would anybody need to be taught this? Seems like basic knowledge
@Wired2Fish6 жыл бұрын
Basic knowledge to some is new knowledge to others. We cover the gamut of content for all skill levels, but always stay reminded of people just entering the fishing market, many of of which are new to things like driving with trailers, backing trailers, outboard operation, etc.
