I have to tell you, you are the classiest teacher I have ever had! I am trying to get the hang of this and seem to be having trouble with the tension, I'll keep working on it! Thank you so much for the detailed instructions and explanations of how to loom knit. I am going to get the hang of it sooner or later 😉
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi LaRee! The Loom Knit Flat stitch is a very tight stitch. It is especially tight when you are just beginning with your first few rows. Once you get past the first few rows, things should ease up a bit. Keep your purl rows looser than normal to help even every thing out. Let me know how it goes or if you have a specific question. 🌻🧶🌻🧶

This was an interesting tutorial! Can cotton yarn be used with the same measurements? Thanks for all you do 😊🧶🧶
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Angie! Cotton should work with the same measurements - if cotton is the same weight of the yarns I listed. If your are using a thinner weight cotton, I would use double stands and use the measurements for the #4 weight yarn. I hope this helps. Cotton Coaters and placemats should be nice 👍🏽 All the best to you!!🌻🌻🧶🌻

Hobby Lobby has a bulky cotton yarn

If I pull the working yarn out at the end without making a knot, now my bind off comes undone. Also, the bind off caused me to lose at least 1" so my coaster isn't symmetrical, it tapers at the top but the cast on row is wider.
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Greetings! I am sorry to hear of the frustrations you had with the coaster. Pulling the yarn through the last loop with that particular bind off has always been very secure for me on many projects. Because I am not there in person to see exactly what you’re doing I don’t know how to instruct you otherwise. I do specifically address the issue of how NOT to have one end a different width from the other end. I demonstrate the process of how to loosen the loops before doing the actual bind off. This can be located at 23:17 in he video. I apologize if I have caused any confusion.🧶🧶🌻

These will be catching liquid or condensation so wouldn't cotton yarn be best?? Thanks!!

@WambuiMadeIt2 жыл бұрын
Greetings! Thank you so very much for watching. I chose the chain stitch cast on because it looks very neat. I thought it would match well with a chain stitch cast off. The goal was to get the cast on row and the cast off row to match as close as possible. 🌻🧶🌻
