Yay!!!! Your placemat pattern is here!!!! It's terrific! I have started using your cast off method on all of my projects. I can't tell you how much easier it is than any other cast off I have ever used. Most importantly, it leaves a nice, even finished edge that isn't scrunched up or bowing. Thanks ever so much for this fun pattern.

Hi Kathy! Thank you for watching. Here are the amounts I used when using each of the 3 different weights of yarn. Of course, the amount of skeins with depend on how many yards are in the skein of the brand you choose. However, I will tell you what I used based on the #3, #4, and #5 weight yarns and the yarns that I use. Thank you again and all the best to you! 🌻🌻🧶🌻. Amount of Yarn Used: #4 weight - 246 Yards - Lion Brand Wool Ease #5 weight - 128 Yards - Loops and Threes Charisma #6 weight - 116 Yards - Yarnspirations Caron Sprinkle Cakes

Does the flat stitch curl?
@kellygermain21463 жыл бұрын
I love your tutorials!!! I do have a question could I use a combination of flat stitch with pearl stitch on a hat or other projects? Do I need to do a crochet cast on to use a flat stitch? I have only learned e stitches and pearls stitches I looked at some others before this flat stitch and it looks to tough for a newbie
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kelly! I appreciate you watching. Yes, you can use the flat stitch and the purl stitch for other projects like a hat - but because the flat stitch tends to be a very tight stitch, you may not have the stretch that you are used to having in your hats. I think the flat stitch works well with projects where you want a really tight weave - pouches, tote bags. The chain stitch cast on - in my opinion - is usually the ideal cast on. If you can do it, it usually looks neater for almost every project. Take care!!🧶🌻🧶

Will it need to be reblocked each time it is washed?
@vivienleigh42083 жыл бұрын
That's my question too!
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Melinda! Great question. I wish I had included the answer in the video. No, you should not have to block or re-block after you have done it the first time. I measured my blocked placemats before soaking them in warm water. When I took them out, they were the same measurement and held their shapes. Of course, I would have to dry flat. BUT WAIT: I said to myself, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”🤗 I have just put a couple of placemats - including the one I made in this video in the washer. I am then going to put them in the dryer. After I take them out - later today, I will come back here and let you know the results. In the mean time, stay wonderful!!🌻🧶🌻

Good morning Mam can we do this on a long loom please help because I have a long rectangular loom
@WambuiMadeIt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sushma! Thank you for watching. Yes, it is possible to loom knit this on a long loom. You would only use one side of the loom - like what is called a rake loom. The cast on and first few rows are going to be a little awkward because of the back row of pegs getting in the way. If you take your time getting the cast on and first few rows on, you will be able to alternate the purl row and the flat stitch row until it is as long as you want. Let me know how it goes.🌻🧶🌻
