After you casted on, you then say to work the rows as before, but you start doing a purl. If beginners are not paying attention, they will continue just doing the same as when they cast on and their project will look very different.

It's likely because when they said 'as before' after casting on, they instead switched to purl without informing us at all.

Hi Jan! Thank you for your comment. This headband is worked in flat panel and it needs to be as long as the child head circumference. Maybe this head circumference chart from Good Knit Kisses helps you out: www.goodknitkisses.com/Resources/hat-chart/

Hi! I worked the headband on the video for an adult size (thanks for your comment, I think I should mention that somewhere). You can change the width of the main band by changing the number of pegs (it must be an even number of pegs), and you can change the final length or circumference by working a fewer number of rows. But I'm not sure about the final length you should make, sorry
