Love this blanket! Love your videos! I was tasked to make a blanket and decided the best way for me to make a blanket (since I HATE counting rows) I just get 5 balls of yarn (Bernat blanket 3.5 oz. balls) in complimentary colors and just knitted each ball until it was done and at the end of knitting the 5 balls of yarn I had a blanket, no counting, no measuring just knitting and I have made 5 so far and the recipients have all been very impressed.

Okay - I have dyslexia and OCD - name it, I have it. It took me one panel of 50 rows to get this concept down pat ! She goes left and I go right, she puts a stitch on peg I put it on peg 2 - did a bind off (totally confusing for me), but I managed. It looks like a preschooler made the panel. However I continued. I went back to square one - I stopped and started the video at least 8 times (maybe more) - my brain kicked in and before you know it, I'm working on my second panel (dismantling the first one) - I must tell you, this tutorial is unbelievable. It helped me understand what I'm doing, finally! I won't stop until I get it right and the tutorials are truly helping me through my shortcomings. Thank you!!!!

With the 36 peg loom, was the blanket bigger? I'm trying to start my first blanket, but want it to be larger. I know I can add more panels to make it bigger, but I want the width to be larger as well, so it's not just one big rectangle. Wasn't sure if a larger loom was the answer. Thanks for any help!

This was sooooo helpful!! My mom has been knitting since I was little and I have always loved watching her. I can fingerknit super fast, but I hate knitting needles and never got the hang of them. So, when I was little she got me a set of a round and long loom. After one failed scarf, I gave up. Now that I'm on summer break after successfully completing my first year of college, I decided to pick my looms back up! I made an amazing scarf for myself and now I'm super inspired to make my parents a big afghan for Christmas. Your explanation of the purl stitch was super helpful as I have never worked with it before, and now I am super excited to buy yarn and get started! We have two handmade afghans that my paternal grandmother made in like the 70s or 80s, so I am super excited to make my own!!

I got a set of looms when I was in HS. I'm 29 now and the only one I found was this tiny blue one. I'm so happy Im still able to make a blanket on it. I'm expecting a son Oct 24th, and I really wanted to knit him something. I was an unexpected girl so my grandparents knitted me a bunch of dresses. I wanted to do something similar for my son. I felt like beanies can be outgrown really fast so I love this blanket idea. I used to be so good at this, but went over 6 years not knitting so I forgot😢 . Thankyou for this video, as you break it down in terms I can understand. ❤

I always enjoy watching your videos. You explain so well and I basically learned from you and Goodknitkisses. I just made a baby blanket with my loom using 16 pegs making squares. I used four different colors and the squares turned out fantastic! My problem was after I realized looming 13 of each other that my strands were too short to sew, I had big problems. So I took the strands and tied more to the ends which was fine until I sewed 5 squares together and attempted to get those put together. What I did was crochet them using a single stitch BUT I'm still new on learning how to change colors so my squares started to unravel ☹. I put it all together and found HOLES in my stitching because the strands were just holding together. So now I'm here looking for better ways to sew my projects.
@LoomaHat Жыл бұрын
Wow - I'm sorry to hear that. Try the 10 stitch blanket so you don't have to sew panels together. Several loom knitting channels have videos showing how to knit that blanket.

My goodness, I am so happy I found you and your fabulous videos. I tried crochet and bombed, same with needle knitting. But your videos with the loom made the lights in my peabrain all go on! I actually GET things when you show them! This blanket is my first project ever, and I'm in love. Suddenly I have confidence, so much so that I already plan to turn this blanket into a bigger one, to make use of all the various yarn colors I bought before I knew how to do anything (not too smart). One request: I made my first cast-off too tight and need to redo it. Could you please please do a video on how to remove and redo the cast-off using the loom? I can find none. I'm sure I messed up on the modifications also, but as a rank beginner, I can't figure out how to frog (I learned that word from you) then remount just the cast-off portion at the bottom of my panel so that I can redo it :). Thanks in advance! I am so grateful for you!

Your instructions were spot on, making this project easy so far. I have made 3 panels so far, but I made them ridiculously long, about 7 feet! Anyway, I am getting ready to "sew" two of the panels together. You showed how to stretch one piece or the other if they weren't exactly the same length and put the safety pins in to hold it in place. My question is...what if the stitches don't line up exactly, do I double up in one ladder with two stitches, in other words, how do I make them even?

Hi Denise-thank you for this cool blanket. Will be easy to make rather quickly. I'm still working on a pattern you recommended and it's coming out nicely (after I started it a second time). @beckys.91007 жыл бұрын
I found that when you are scooping up the yarn (because there is yarn above it), it is much easier if you go from the top of the yarn you are moving over, rather than from the bottom, because that way you aren't catching the yarn above, and splitting the fibers.

Whenever you do your 2 purl-stitch, do you continue using an E-Wrap, U-Wrap, or classic knit? Fabulous videos, I learn a lot, even when I think in doing things correctly, my product seems to have various misses, dropped stitches, wrong type etc etc etc. I've frogged more than anything I've done(only completed a baby blanket on the large round loom. I have a quick question, if you don't mind. I followed your tutorial, and made a small baby blanket like yours. I really love the way this stitch looks, and I wanted to try making an adult sized version but as one singular panel. (I would be using an S-loom, and it has 198 pegs.) How would I calculate which pegs need to be modified during the bind off? Or do I not need to modify for a songle panel that won't need sewing?

Hi! Thanks to your videos, I decided to pick up looming! It’s working great for my anxiety disorder. Every time I get anxious, I find making these is really soothing! Making panel two of my first blanket! It’s nice to put my negative energy into nice things for other people. I’m sorry to bother you but I really was hoping for some help as a beginner? I’ve started making a blanket for my friend using “tufty” wool, and even on my 30cm round loom, I’ve realised it’s not going to be big enough. I can’t connect the panels like a normal yarn either! So I was considering purchasing a Afghan loom (I was given weird looks as a 20 year old in the yarn shop...) as that should give me a wide enough bass to use as a blanket. I was just trying to work out - I love this stitch, would I be able to use it on a Afghan loom? I wouldn’t need to use panels - would I follow this pattern with skipping pegs? I’m sorry if it’s a lot to ask! Really appreciate your videos and thanks so much for getting me into something new!
