Can I do this in the round for a hat
@dawnakern74677 жыл бұрын
Great video as always. I knit hats for the homeless, never thought of knitting socks as well. I'm going to make sets. I try to knit very pretty hats for the ladies and bright hats for the kids. The men usually want more muted colors. Just because they are homeless doesn't mean they don't deserve a pretty hat and pair of socks. Everything I've learned is thanks to you. I knitted over 100 hats last year and I'm sending this thank you from all of them, I know they would thank you themselves if they could.

Dawna Kern I agree! I believe that people deserve the best no matter what their situation is. I also crochet hats for homeless shelters and also give them away to my neighbours. I can't wait to start these socks, they will love them! 💙

Awesome, I had a problem when I first started knitting, I gave almost 60 hats to a huge, local church telling them that "these were for the homeless", cuz I know they said they did a lot for the local homeless community only to find out that the church members took most of them for themselves. Be careful who you trust. I found a great church who uses every hat I make for the homeless and a women/children shelter where I give a lot of ladies and kids hats.

Hi there!! I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you and send you a big hug from the UK. I asked my husband for a set of looms for Christmas. I am disabled and have been very unwell for a couple of years which has meant I have had to give up a lot of my crafts. I was always sad that I never made my son who is now 10, anything to wear. All his knitted stuff was made by my Mum or church friends. I got.my looms given early so I had something to do when I had to stay in bed for a few days before Christmas and following one of your videos - I made my son a hat with a pompom in half a day!! I was SO happy I cried!! Now I have also made a hat with a loom flower for our lollipop lady to keep her warm, one for my Mum, one for.my nurses baby that is due any day now and 2 tiny ones to donate to he special care baby unit at our hospital!! I've bought and begged wool from everyone I can think of and am now making hats and I hope, socks for our local charity called Hospitality and Hope. None of this would have been possible without the confidence I got from watching your video and I have made a list of all the things I want to make from your channel!! THANK YOU and god bless xx

Ann, I don't know what to say. My heart is full. You are a beautiful lady and a blessing to all of us, me, your family, your friends, your church and though your charitable giving to people you may never meet this side of heaven. Truly a God sent. Thank YOU Thank you thank you ! I wish I could hug you !!!!!

@@LoomaHat Ah what lovely things to say!! Thank you so much. I am very blessed to have been given so much love and support since I got sick and I love being able to find ways of passing the kindness on, and loom knitting is definitely giving me that avenue to help others. I can't believe how neat and tidy my knitting is on the loom too!! I will try and load some photos onto your Facebook page if you would like to see my efforts so far. Many blessings for the coming new year to you xx

I did it! My fourth loom knit project and I love those socks for winter. Can't wait to sip coffee in the morning when it's snowing outside with me wearing these cozy socks. Thanks so much! I bought some chunky yarn to make a few more pairs. Thanks for the tip about donating socks. I persuaded a friend to help me make some when I gifted her a loom knit kit for Christmas. Too late this year, but I am sure we will be ready next winter.

I also get confused and lost on the heel parts for loom knitting, get frustrated ans frog the whole thing lol But this is perfect. No HEEL , easy to follow and he gets his knitted socks as a gift instead of me havibg to purchase them from someone else whom knits. 😊i love handmade gifts to give at christmas.❤

@LoomaHat Жыл бұрын
If you use a large gauge loom - yes you need two strands or chunky yarn or change the version of the knit stitch to only Uwrap but then you'll get a child size sock. If you knit with a small gauge - you can use one strand. Hope all this makes sense and helps some. 🙂

Hello, I’m new to loom knitting, and just made a pair. I was skeptical, thinking there was no way these would fit me, and they fit perfectly. I’m sold on not worrying about the heal. These perfectly molded in all the right places. I thought they might be too long, but they weren’t. I made a bunch of hats and a few scarves for a local homeless shelter. Next year, I want to double from 15 hats and 5 scarves to 30 & 10, plus I’ll be doing some socks too. I will have to work on the toe. I can feel the seem. It’s my sewing, which I don’t really know how to do yet.

This was my second ever project so I was a little intimidated but I finished one sock and it turned out okay! (Not perfect, but good enough xD) Because of my lack of wool yarn (the store ran out of everything, I managed to steal the last ones), I did it with 60 rows instead of 80, but the socks are for me and I have small feet so the sizing turned out nice! I will definitely be making more in the future, thanks for the tutorial!

Thank you for this tutorial. I am going to try to use a thinner yarn to close off the toe. I want to see if less bulk taking up space in my shoe feels best. If not, I can fix it easily.
@OtterLakeFlutes2 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thanks! If I want to use a more closely-spaced pegs like a 5 .5 inch hoop with 36 pegs (and I think my adjustable Kb is about the same peg spacing) I wonder what my yarn gauge options are? If I tried 1-superfine/sock for a thin sock I wonder if it would be ridiculously loose like a goldfish net? I've even used worsted on this spacing for a hat... maybe a compromise is the 2-sport.,, but I can get twice as much weight on a spool if I go with 1-superfine. Maybe I've got some superfine around here to experiment first...

Hi there. I've been watching your videos ever since I started loom knitting over a year ago. LOVE THEM and the way you teach. My issue with this one is, the u-wrap is really tight and it's hard to push them down the peg to do the e-wrap which is looser and easier. I am even laying the yarn across the peg lightly and the u-wrap is really tight and it is taking a long time to have to push down all those tight ones to continue with e-wrap. Almost everytime I have done u-wrap, it gets really tight and is hard to get the yarn down for the next row. Suggestions? Thank you very much. Love your entire channel on here.

Yes in general it should be fine but - keep in mind that not all acrylic yarn acts the same. But in general it doesn't have as much stretch as say a nylon blend or wool.
