Great video, some advice please mate as I'm new to looping, i have a Blackstar Silverline 2x12 Stereo Deluxe will a looper work with the 2 housed speakers in my Silverline (I presume what you've looped will play through the one speaker while what you play live will come through the second) or do i need 2 separate amp/speakers? I am curious about the d'angelico you're playing. It has a great tone, and is that an ebony fretboard? The sound reminds me of an old Ibanez semi hollow body I had a long time ago, with the small body. Oh and the chord things you talk about are very nice too! I do similar things with my old ditto looper.

Great video. I have a boss RC 30 but never could make the loop times join up. I found out that the way that I have my looper configured it stop the loop when you let off the stop pedal not when you push down on it. Apparently, you can change that, but that seems so stupid. I love your Patreon Account keep the good stuff coming.

My first question before I get to learn all the fancy stuff is: ANY advice on getting a tight loop? I have a Boss looper, bought because it has a 'pedal' type switch which I preferred to my previous 'nipple' type switch. I thought that might solve the problem of stopping the loop too soon or too late. It didn't. So the problem remains. So advice please, Sean.

First step would definitely be to play the progression through a few times and try to capture the loop in the middle of it rather than a cold start.

Why refer to the pentatonic you're using as Bm as opposed to D major? I know they're the "same thing" / relative keys. But you're so clearly in the key of D, it seems like a D major pentatonic. Still learning this stuff, and am genuinely curious! Nice lesson

Same difference. Personally I 'see' the shapes on a guitar by the bass note of where my pointer finger is on the low E string. Same sound though, just a different way to name it.

how does Patreon work for writers :-( But another question, I maybe have asked before: I have written like 5--6 songs, basically chords, rhythm and lyrics. whats the next step? learn to play the melody and use it as solo? go to somebody who actually knows what he is doing (I am poor writer, so I cannot really afford professionals) - learn them well enough and perform on youtube? what's the next step for a beginner songwriter?
