I can relate to this quite a bit, little trivia note for all of ya'll, paddles extend the life of your control, ESPECIALLY in games where you use the control stick buttons heavily (e.g Warframe for me, I have crouch configured to my right stick and bullet jumping is one of the best ways to get around) and if you need a cheap but sturdy paddle control for xbox for example the PDP from best buy is an excellent option, I got mine for about 38 bucks including the warranty.

GameStop sells a controller mod that is wired and has paddles for like $20-30. Mod part is optional and paddles are magnetic. Like having a scuf but lots cheaper

I'd say it's worth it. It's possible to do it without, but since I got an Elite controller (I had to buy a new one anyway and figured what the hell) it is so much more convenient. I heal and reload (pickup) with paddles and jump with L1 and R3 for prone. Not necessary, but convenient and comfortable

Paddles are where it's at if you can afford it. It also takes a long time to get really used to using them. The advantage is fairly significant and well worth it for a serious gamer. They are a lot easier to learn than the claw.

I use an elite controller for Xbox and while pick up is very useful. The real benefit I think is being able to look around while activating perks and repairing armour.

Yea I use to be a Scuf fanboy since black ops II, but ever since the elite controller came out I’ve switched over. The only reason anyone should get a Scuf now is if you want to design your own or if you specifically want the vibration taken out of the controller other than that Elite controllers are easily available, Under warranty, and does everything the Scuf does but better .

I use the FPS dominator mod pack for the PS4 (value scuff). It helps save the saddle joints of my thumbs by being able to reprogram my slide and sprint to my paddles. I love it.

Tap is so much better also jump slide on paddles 100% better even if looting was a problem and it's not with tap. With jump and slide you can juke so much better and keep thumbs on sticks the moving when shooting is the best

Tap to pick up is only a problem when you're looting a bag how often are you seriously looking slightly downward, while standing over another gun, in the middle of a gun fight, and need to reload? The option to loot only pops up if you look at the ground so if you're hot dropping you're already looking at the ground anyways... paddles are useless

You dont need to look down anymore with X/square than you do with paddles. You using paddles is NO DIFFERENT when it comes to looking down at stuff to pick it up. You can just hit x/square just like the paddles in just 1/4 second max

I've owned 4 Scuf Controllers now and TBH they aren't worth the price. They've all broken in less than 6 months and when I try to get Scuf to replace it they tell me it's not covered by their warranty. I've had paddles go out, L3/R3 stop working, triggers stop working on all of them. Good on you for trying to advertise your sponsorship but I have to respectfully disagree. In my time playing I can count maybe one time I've died while looting.

Please people NEVER buy a Scuf. They are overpriced. Scuf is literally just a stock ps4 controller with extra buttons that you can repaint. 🤦🏽‍♂️ Get you a Razer or Nacon. They are actually a whole new hardware and not just a stock ps4 controller. They both are very reliable and won’t break on you a few months after having them.
