How can it be possible to loose 10 pounds a week when 14 large eggs are about 980 calories? I guess I better listen again and pay closer attention! I'm thinking 30% of that ten pounds is water loss, not fat as not eating at all you can only loose about 7 pounds of fat in a week but eating over 900 calories a day just doesn't add up to loosing that much weight.

I was drinking 10 to 12 beers a night, I quit cold turkey August 17th that's 86 days . I've gone from 274 lbs to 222 stalled but I can see my shoes now. I'm carnivore - ish, my, cheat now when I get hungry is popcorn cooked in bacon grease and butter. My favorite thing is ground bison, it's $14.00 a pound now and rib-eyes , hard to find in my area in over one pound steaks. One and a quarter pounds keeps me satiated 24 hours or longer. At 73 years old I feel better than I did at 50, eating crap I didn't know was bad for me.

Your meat choice is not bad for you at all but if you want to drop more weight.... just eat a fatty fish for a week like wild Salam cook them broiled and only add herbs and lemon the next week switch to a lettuce you like no sweetened dressings and no added trash. Just lettuce some tossed in nuts a few chopped berrries and onions and use apple cedar vinegar got a week....by the end of those three weeks you will have.lost another 20 pounds at least! And co.pletrly healthy.....drink teas with no sugars or coffee especially the same way....milk no cream best black

I live in western Colorado, and can walk down the street a half mile and buy eggs from a small family farm, where the chickens actually poke around on 2-3 acres out in the sunshine everyday. $5.00/dozen, and they are all colors of the rainbow! The yokes are the most vibrant color of orange its incredible. I like this - may actually try it! Thanks!

I went egg crazy a couple years ago and in one day I had six chicken eggs and then later in the day four (LARGE) duck eggs. My legs and sides broke out in a brutal rash all over that to this day is not completely gone. Ben is absolutely correct about EGGS they are awesome. Just don't hop right into 14 eggs though. BTW, I went in twice and had allergen bloodwork done across the board and have no allergies, including eggs. Just give your body a chance to adapt until my dumb move. One of my only KETO journey hiccups in losing 75lbs and getting so much more healthy including my heart.

THANK YOU FOR THIS POST I upped my protein to 90g / day and my fiber to a minimum of 25g / day (to help with post-menopausal changes, including visceral fat). It took me WELL OVER A WEEK to EVENTUALLY up my macros to those levels. I was wondering how the [expletive deleted] does one CONSUME 14 EGGS in ONE DAY. I HAVE TO FORCE myself to consume the 90g P + 25+F.

12:45 I have to correct you on that. If you add paprika to the chicken feed, the yolks will be dark yellow. In the UK, at least, the harder the shell, the better the nutritional content of the egg. In these 7 days you'll be depleting your body of carbs and not adding carbs to your diet. As carbs add water to the body composition, avoiding carbs consumption and depleting the body of them within about 2 days, means that the body will get rid of a looooot of water throughout the 7 days, starting to burn fat from the 3rd day or so. Most of the weight loss will be from water loss. Still, keto is the way to go!

@@MySiamesedreams when you start eating every day again and multiple times a day of course you restart to regain weight. But on a ketovore/carnivore diet this happens slowly. I also had very good results with fat-fasting. Eating mostly just fat (90%) for 10 days I also managed to loose 10lbs in 10days

Wow, glad to hear marigold is a good thing. I was told some egg producers gave the chicken marigold to make the yolks darker which made me think it was a cheat. And it’s a bonus that I buy Vital Farms pasture raised eggs.

I put the all-purpose pluck seasoning on my eggs, and it is awesome. It is possible to overdo it, though. I have learned to put the seasoning on after (like salt). And you know what an awesome trick is for enjoying eggs? Smile as you eat! You're doing such a great thing for your body, and that should make you happy!

Ben, I raise my own chickens, they run around the garden all day, I supplement with dried soldier fly and organic feed, they all have different colored yolks sometimes dark orange yellow sometimes lighter, yolk color is not an indicator of nutritional value.

For 6 weeks, I've been eating 4 eggs and meat, nothing else every day with IF and I haven't lost a pound. Now I hear this guy say don't fry them or I can get heart disease. I already have heart disease, I had open heart surgery last year and I'm doing this carnivore to become healthier but the only person that said don't fry them or ele, is this video. For humans, autophagy usually starts around 3 days of fasting. You're not going to get much if any autophagy with intermittent fasting. Time to get with the latest understanding of autophagy. Exercise can also induce autophagy ... fyi.

The cholesterol you eat is not the cholesterol your body creates. APOB VLDL count can determine atherosclerosis, so you're correct it's not just the LDL count. But risk does correlate with higher LDL in general. But normal LDL could have a high APOB or low APOB.

And about if you like onions? I like to cut about two big yellow onions in vertical rainbow type julienne slices and then steer fry them on a frying pan with either butter or olive oil, until a little brown, don't worry two big onions seem maybe to much for you, but after frying them, they become much less in volume. I myself like them a little browner, add a little salt and fresh pepper and mix them truly. Then add 5 eggs Sunnyside up and if you like again add a sprinkle of salt and pepper on top of the eggs and cover the frying pan with the lid until the yoke is cooked the way you like it. I love the sweetness of the onions and the flavor of the eggs, so much that I could eat them everyday.

Most nutrition sutes say large eggs have 7 or 7.5 grams of protein per egg so 70 grams for 14 eggs is pretty low. I’ve been eating 4-6 eggs per meal (I eat a total of 2 meals per day) for months with 250-300 grams of red meat and FEEL and LOOK fantastic.

Im thankful every day that I have chickens and they are NOT FILTHY ANIMALS. My hens are clean, lovibg birds that give me amazing healthyveggs. Pigs are not filthy animals either. Make sure the eggs are grass-fed and organic because antibiotics in other eggs can ruin your gut biome... It really took mine for a spin and I was able to cure it with aloe vera and juice and bone broth but it took a couple of years.

It’s not the number of eggs it’s the lack of carbohydrates that will cause the water loss and some fat loss. So just eat until you feel full. I think it’s smart to take your size into account. Most women gain when they eat with a man.

Ghee is concentrated butter. In South Africa ghee is pretty expensive. I'm sure butter is a good option. Although eggs and butter are prohibitively expensive in SA. But then, why are we wasting money buying junk like biscuits, sweets, cod drinks? Just spend it on decent food

@ I got an email from the Seed Oil Scout app with testing funded by Angel Acres Farm. Of course Angel Acres sells eggs (ship anywhere in the US), so they had a motive to fund the testing. However, the testing showed 23.5% linoleic acid to 7.6% stearic acid. Worth pursuing further in my opinion.

I use my ninja pressure cook function to make 4 minute pasture eggs, the yolk is almost runny and I slice 2 or 3 over my arugula salad everyday. The shells just fall off. This would be my preferred lunch and dinner. Lost 41 pounds just doing the lunch. Been stuck for awhile and would love to do an egg dinner to get unstuck, but not possible with a husband who wants a real dinner. I've already made him compromise so much by not going out to dinner and Sunday breakfast out, etc.

Ghee doesn't taste very good, so it does not encourage people to eat it. Better to use grass fed butter since it has almost as much beneficial Butyrate as ghee, and butter tastes better.

I literally have 10-12 more pounds to lose and I’ve been doing really good! That’s a lot more food than I’ve been eating for the past 6 months - I’ve been doing primarily OMAD so I’ll be interested to see if this will actually help me lose weight as my goal weight is 108 lbs. Should I really eat this many eggs daily as I’m kinda a small person? By small I mean I’m 5’1” tall with a goal weight of 108 lbs. Current weight 120 lbs. Reason I need to be 108 lbs is for my severe osteoarthritis and I need the best weight profile for best pain management.

I started this ""diet"" 3 days ago, (12 eggs, I could not eat 14 it was too much) I weighed myself before, and then now 3 days later, I did lose net 1.5 pounds, but I gained 1 pound of body fat, I am also doing a fast 22-2 as I get home from work at around 8 pm, so I eat 6 eggs and then 2 hours later 6 more eggs, I go to bed around 12h30, I tried eating in the morning, but then I cannot eat more than 6 eggs, as it is impossible to get time to eat at lunchtime, so I would have to eat at 8pm, so it means no fasting. My question is why am I gaining fat and not losing it? I am concerned this method will make me fatter, not leaner.

Almost all of the keto/carnivore gurus say not to eat that late or that close to bedtime. Hope that helps . Good luck on your journey

Tallow has more nutrients. Ghee only has a few percent of the recommended amount of vitamins A, E, & K, so don't count on ghee for vitamins.

Hi Ben, I've been watching your channel very often, I like it a lot. Lately I've been trying the zero carbs only eating meat, eggs, butter for the last 3 weeks and did not lose one pound, weird because I tried that in the past and I lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks. I am getting frustrated . I had breast cancer twice so my options are limited. I was just watching another channel from a " coach " and he says that no matter what kind of diet it all comes to the unique principle, eat less than your METABOLIC DAILY at REST, I am about to believe this guy. What's your opinion?

In my experience, weight-loss stalls simply mean your body is healing. I waited months on Carnivore and didn't see weight loss. But boy did my energy expand. Now, I've seen drop in weight steadily.

I would think that any animal fat would be acceptable. That’s what I am going to do. I have lard, tallow and butter. I will try them all. The small jar of organic ghee I looked at yesterday when shopping was $24. No thanks. I’ll use what I have.

You can do your own ghee with grass fed butter. Ghee is clarified butter. There are videos on how to make it. It's basically taking the proteins out of the butter.

This is about 1200 calories if you count the ghee = not a fast per se. It's severe calorie restriction for most people. Theoretically you could do it until you either 1) get tired of it or 2) reach your body weight goal. Most people find that amount of calorie restriction (~50%) unsustainable over time unless you're already fat adapted or have a lot of fat to lose. If you did it longer than a week, you'd probably want to be supplementing to round out any potential nutrient deficiencies.

All of that benefits that is mentioned here is what also carnivores everyday! When I Google i read in Wikipedia that humans are categorised as "hyper-carnivores"! A hyper-carnivores is when at least 70% of food is from meat.. In short more or less carnivores are eating like our evolution of our body supports. So how could we be so brain washed and dont know what to eat? And we have got so lost and eating so far as possible from what the evolution have given us. For example vegetarian.. they need to take supplements as B12 vitamins.. just that fact alone should tell EVERYBODY that being vegetarian is not the "right/correct"way of eating and unatural.❤

Yep, hunters and gatherers. Our Australian aboriginals often suffer from diiabetes which is a result of consuming a western diet vs their traditional diet and nomadic lifestyle, which they would have had until around 200 years ago. Unless living in tropical areas, high sugar fruits would not form a part of that and then only seasonal. In Western Australia (mostly arid) they would have hunted kangaroo, lizard/snakes, birds/eggs, grubs and the women dug tubers and collected (very little) berries and seeds. They moved to different areas according to the seasons and the animals/plants available.

This sounds amazing, but my only concern is the amount of calories; it seems like way too low of calories every day. Would that be a concern for metabolism? Why or why not?

You're correct. 14 eggs and 2 tablespoons of ghee would be around 1200 calories. That amount of calorie restriction for a week would impact everyone differently depending on their typical metabolic state (fat vs carb-burning) and rate. One week isn't likely long enough to cause meaningful metabolic adaptation.

Keep the same EAA recommendations - not within 20 minutes before or 1 hour after other proteins. Since they're basically non-caloric I would suggest taking them opposite your eating window to keep a supply available to your body. So if your window is 12 pm to 6 pm, then maybe take them when you wake up. Also, consider switching to OptimalAmino. It's the same formulation but half the price.

I ate around 7eggsish with sardines and lost weight on 3-4 days a week combination sardines and eggs both no carbs, so it works doing that way also btw.

Eggs are one of the top 8 allergenic foods. Be careful with them if you are dealing with autoimmune issues. I've read it's the whites that are the main issue.
