I'm a little confused. Are you saying with my homocysteine of 13.5, I should simply supplement, or could benefit from altering my diet, or both? I have degenerative disc disease, and going magnesium supplementation and keto have changed my life (seemingly, so has benfotiamine.) The higher my ketones, the generally better I do. I do have flair-ups, and I take all kinds of supposedly anti-inflammatory substances. WRT eggs (and apparently beef) would I benefit from more or less? Is there a list you trust? PS: You probably know my doctor in Denver, and he didn't say anything about my homocysteine level. 😕 I'm also trying to lower my iron (or rather, RBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit, which are all three high) so I give blood every 10 weeks.

I went from 321lbs to 170lbs in 2 years, and have maintained it for 2 years - so a total of 4 years. My heart surgeon was amazed at how clean my arteries were. If I hadn’t lost the 150lbs, I don’t know if I would’ve bounced back from the open heart surgery. I’m 13 weeks post surgery and I can perform dumbbell training & cardio training.

Thank you for recognizing this. My little brother came home from school and said they were teaching him that whole milk was the least healthiest, less healthy than reduced fat milk. I have no degrees but it’s my understanding that you need the fat and the least amount of pasteurization. More fat so there’s more vitamin and mineral absorption, and pasteurization kills more good than bad. Leaving behind lots of DEAD bacteria from pasteurization. Anybody remember when fda was contaminating milk at supermarkets to force them into pasteurization processes? Eventually putting local farmers out of business due to “safety” standards. One time they actually got brought to court because of their evil doings, so when they LOST their case, they just contaminated the same supermarkets milk until they could no longer afford the court fees. It’s almost as if the FDA/EPA are forms of control beyond our comprehension all the way down the the very studies they choose to base their regulations on. You even see it with wild game management in some states with pigs, wolves, and other animals

@@nenadcveleUnfortunately in this particular case the numbers he shows seem to be misinterpreted. The only study I could find that compares whole eggs to egg whites (van Vliet 2017) did show that whole egg consumption resulted in more muscle synthesis, but they did not show that 50% number, and more importantly while they did match protein content between interventions, they did not match the fat content (i.e. the egg-white only group consumed zero fats), which probably explains the difference. In any kind of balanced diet the egg whites would probably be consumed with healthy fats, likely resulting in comparable protein utilization. Also, looking at the comments it seems that most viewers missed the part where healthy whole eggs only come from pasture-raised (not even free-range) hens that are not fed soy and corn (or at least are fed high-oleic varieties of soy and corn), which are exceedingly rare. The vast majority of people eating 4 or more whole eggs a day receive excessive amounts of linoleic acid (omega 6 PUFA) with those eggs and that is not healthy!

My dad has over 20000 chickens on a 120 hectare certified organic citrus farm. They eat a completely organic non-gmo feed. He designed is own mobile home where 300 chickens stay closed in and safe at night to protect them from predators. The mobile home also has close to 50 private “rooms” which each chicken can creep in and lay an egg. They sleep from 6pm - 5am. During the day they roam underneath the citrus trees and hunt the little bugs, eat, drink water, take a sand baths, chase each other and rest. The eggs are sooooo beautiful and quite large. Not to mention extremely tasty. We call them the happiest chickens in South Africa. I believe they truly are because none of them are scared of human interaction.

I’ve been eating 4 eggs a day for several years now. At 42 years old, standing 165 cm tall, and weighing 48 kg, eggs have become my primary source of protein since I don’t consume meat. I feel fantastic - energized, focused, and rarely feel the need to snack. I skip breakfast and maintain a lean, healthy physique. I sleep soundly and have enough stamina to hike mountains almost daily. Cholesterol isn’t a concern for me at all. Dr. Ekberg’s insights are absolutely spot-on. A big thanks and greetings from Norway!

As someone who is in the commercial egg business, it's true what he says about quality. I've gone to a commercial "organic free range" egg producer barns weekly, and not once did I ever see a chicken outside. Their excuse is that the chickens don't want to go out, yet my personal chickens at home nearly murder me trying to get out everyday. In Canada, only a couple companies run the whole show and run the boards, so they basically do whatever they want, however deceptively they like to do it.

I’ve been eating five soft boiled (or sunny side up), eggs a day for the last 8+ years and I make sure that they are organic pasture, raised chickens. I make sure that they are soft boiled and not hard boiled so the cholesterol is in a liquid format for better digestion and absorption. I also incorporate about a gallon of Alkalized and ionized Water a day, as well as a mixed berry/spinach and plant protein-based shake that also has 2 tablespoons of Braggs apple cider vinegar. This has helped me maintain healthy regimen as well as my weight.

3 years ago, when I started to become aware of the problems with starch/sugar, I learned from Dr. Sten that excess protein can trigger insuline to some degree. I also learned from him that eggs are a great source of micronutrients. So, my 1st meal (of 2) is mostly eggs and bacon. I use 2 whole eggs plus 2 separated yolks. Makes sense. When I was training for my Physical test back in April, All I ate was 4 eggs and 5-7 cups of cruciferous veggies for 6 days. Fasted every Sunday. Was just doing OMAD. I was feeling fine the entire time and losing a lot of weight (mostly fat). I say that because I was also weight lifting pretty hard, and running. Throughout 6 weeks, I was thinking I am probably going to lose my muscles/strength. But no, I was still getting stronger. It was slower than when I usually eat twice a day, but still stronger. Way better than what I used to do. Drinking smoothies twice a day to lose weight. Was feeling all sorts of lethargic. Also, for the past 4 years, I always start that routine 2 months in advance and usually lose 40lbs. I never stick to it after my test and the weight jumps bacc up. But this time this year, I've decided to keep eating once a day and lost an extra 30 lbs by the end of year. Since, I am a gamer, I found ways to walk slowly for hours on a treadmill while playing. They have 100 hens that are outside pecking around the yard any day that isn’t terrible weather. These are some of the best eggs I’ve ever had and I’ve grown up on home raised eggs! I get 10 doz per week lately and I water glass and dehydrate them for long term storage. Don’t want to ever run out! I am about to start another egg fast. I did one a few years ago when I was very ill from acute tick diseases. It helped tremendously. I did 6 raw eggs daily in full fat coconut milk. I’ll do similar again. Choline is necessary to heal the cell membrane & mitochondria which are damaged by toxic indoor mold (which destroyed my health before I got the tick bite that took me over the edge and nearly killed me). My health crashed from indoor mold January 2013 then April 2016 I got the tick diseases that nearly killed me several times over the next several years.

A tip on a totally different topic. Lots of people use canned beans but they have trouble digesting them because of the lectins in the beans. Soaking them overnight is a great way to reduce lectins (these cause bloating and gas) but pressure cooking them after soaking also reduces a lot of the lectins. If you don't want to do that the only brand of canned beans that are presoaked and pressure cooked before canning are Eden beans.

Funny that I read this immediately after finishing a can of beans! I gently re-fried them in a small amount of olive oil. I added garlic powder while cooking. After that, I put them in a bowl and topped them off with shredded cheese and sour cream. You should try it!

November last year I had my blood tests done. And though my blood pressure was normal, and cholesterol a tiny bit too high, I was told that I was prediabetic. I decided enough was enough. For nine months I've been working out daily, cut out practical all cereals, legumes and starchy vegetables (except oats, I love my oats) and eaten a diet containing basically of meat, vegetables and dairy, while counting my calorie intake. Eggs has been my go-to protein. I've gone through 1,5-2 trays a week (15 per tray) as it was the cheapest. Both the eggs and meat comes from a local farm that raise their animals on pastures. Two months ago I had my blood tested again: Blood pressure even lower, cholesterol within normal ranges, the amount of blood lipid more than halved and no longer prediabetic. I've also lost nearly 30kg, and is only 8kg from my target weight. Once I reach that goal I'll stop CICO and do rolling fasts for real. A lot of the info I collected before fixing my diet came from you, and made it much easier for me to process exactly what was going on when you eat different foods.
