Have you personally ever tracked every single calorie you have consumed daily by weighing everything you eat and inputting it on a calorie tracking website like Cronometer? And used a calorie calculator that takes into the equation TDEE, BMR, your physical exercise routine, etc, and then have you sustained the calorie deficit recommendations to a point for months? And got weight loss results from doing this or not? Many people say they have not lost weight calorie counting but most people do it WRONG! Yes, I am doing it now and it works, but it's a slow process because I'm eating healthy, my caloric deficit is only 200-300 kcal a day. I prefer it like this because I can do it forever and not put the weight back.
@yanostropicalparadise7554 жыл бұрын
@@lorilee1931 yes this will seam like it works short term, and it can work well for a small amount of people, but sorry you cant do it forever, after a length of time your bodies metabolism will slow down ad that 300 calorie deficit will not be enough you will have to do another 200 to 300 deficit and again the same will happen you will get as low as 1000 calories a day and still not lose fat after this cycle continues, this is call starvation, so eventually you will have to go back to eating a normal amount and gain all that you lost back because this strategy for fat loss doesn't work long term. a better solution is eat none fattening foods such as animal foods and fat, do intermittent fasting, and or alternate day fasting. the best method is 32 hour fast, skip a day of eating then on the next day don't eat till after 5pm. don't restrict the amount you eat on the days you eat, but keep i with foods that are healthy and all animal base, stay off dairy. keep the proteins high and the fats moderate. this work for getting rid of that hard to lose fat.

lol you say im wrong, but ive already lived what ive said. calorie deficit diets don't work, they never will. yes you can lose weight not necessarily fat on any diet in a deficit, but you'll gain it right back because you cant sustain this type of diet for a life. so what's the solution? eat those foods that are better for the body you want to have, avoid vegetable oils, exercise, intermittent fast or just don't eat all day. i can eat 3500 calories in lean meat and lose fat or i can eat 3000 calories in sugar and vegetable oils and gain a shit ton of fat fast, these are facts have experienced. yes everyone is different some would gain less some might gain more but all would gain some. their are many nuances in diets. and yes they all have to be tailored to you. their are to many variables. if your inactive and eat you will get fat even on low calorie diets the rate at which you get fat changes depending on the foods you eat. on lean meats it could take years, on sugars, starches and vegetable oils it would be weeks or months so in the end all calories are not the same.

Actually it's the only diet that works (calorie counting) and it's not even diet.. Plus why can't somebody sustain it ? If you give yourself 1000 kcal deficit of course you can't sustain it. People fail on calorie counting because they want to change evertyhing in one week. So they start to eat 1500 kcal per day down from 5 k calories or whatever they were eating before they decided to lose weight.. Whatever your diet is, it is always calories in and calories out. Right now i'm on calorie deficit i can probably use a calculator and tell you exactly how much will i lose until next week and it will be pretty acturate... I use max. of 300 - 500 kcal deficit per day, i do refill days to spark up metabolism i don't have any hunger issues finally.Plus i build healthy communication with food. How can you achieve that if you decide you will never eat sugar again, or just stick to one type of food in the long run ? I eat whatever i want, just need to keep track of macros of course. Maybe you are right that everybody needs to find they're own approach but i dont't believe that eating 4k kcal of fats is not gonna make you fat in the long run.
@ConsciousCalisthenics4 жыл бұрын
OK my first question, how many people have you coached on a calorie deficit diet and the people that did it weighed every food every single day that they consumed and they stuck to enough of a calorie deficit diet over a long period of time that did not lose weight? Also did you track everything you ate when eating a calorie deficit diet? I mean everything, never putting in serving sizes and using cronometer or something similar to track your intake daily, also did you use a method that includes TDEE, BMR, NEAT etc to work out how many calories you need to be in a deficit? If not then I am sorry but I will stick to people I learn from who have done all of the above for tens of years with themselves and thousands of there clients.

@@ConsciousCalisthenics you seam to miss the main point, yes calorie deficits can get you weight loss, but if you think you can keep that up for the rest of your life your crazy, no one can. that's why they regain the weight. the only diet that works is one you can do without being restrictive, without having to think about it. if short term is all your after then almost any fad diet can work. eliminating permanently foods and eating habits that cause you to get fat is a life choice not a diet. example, if cake and ice cream make you fat avoid them, if eating 4 meals a day makes you fat eat 2 or 1 this doesn't mean go on a calorie deficit.

I have needed 10 years of trying different diets, just to acknowledge finally a fact that it's always calories and out. I;ve arleady lost 12 kg and i did it in 6 months and still going down, but SLOWLY... I don;t rush it like before. Small deficit is a KEY. It all comes with experience. Many people, me included, use diets which may seem appealing because you can eat how much you want if you just stick to certain food group, or fast whole day just to eat one big meal within feeding windown But what does it cause ? IT makes you stay in the same psychological trap, because you clearly want to overeat and you just look for the ways to do it within the diet itself.It does not change your relationship with food. IF you decide one day that you do not want to continue a diet anymore, nothing will change. Calorie Deficit kind of forces you into learning which type of food are caloric dense, which have a lot of protein, sugar, fats and so on... You can eat whatever you want but you will have to choose healthier foods, probably with lot's of protein because they make you full the most. Diets or IF are just a tools, but it all has to be used within calorie deficit in the end. I am on weight reduction right now and i still enjoy things like chocolate, donuts or ice creams but i always make sure to count it in my daily calorie expenditure. And it works.

Nice, I am glad you have found what works for you and I completely agree that calorie tracking allows people to become aware of what the calorie content of specific foods are which is a great way to then be able to lose weight easier on any type of diet. Most fat people when asked think they are eating way less calories then they are and most skinny people are eating way more calories than they think they are because they have no clue about how many calories are in the foods they eat or any foods for that matter of fact. I know that the IIFYM diet works which is a diet where you eat a specific amount of calories to lose weight and you can eat things like donuts etc like you are and still lose weight due to always being in a calorie deficit.

@@ConsciousCalisthenics It is actually funny how much can a man lie to himself when it comes to calories counting and diets overall. I did the same thing. I sometimes even chose not to count something or diminished its calorie count so my fitness pal would tell me i am still on track.. IT's crazy because after one week you don't even remember that it happened, but since the scale will show it anyway, it leads to thinking that nothing works and "fuck it i will be fat forever" type of mindset hah. But once i have learned to count in everything the progress has been amazing.

Does calorie counting work? Sometimes for some people, but I've been a holistic nutritionist, personal trainer and in the wellness field for over 20 years and I know from working with hundreds of clients that it doesn't work if hormones are imbalanced. The ones who suffer the most from the calorie in versus calorie out model are pre and post menopausal women. I see it every day. They weigh, count, measure every morsel they eat and diligently track calories burned and cannot lose more than a few pounds, if any. Once their hormonal health is addressed, weight comes off. It takes a lot of work to get there, but it can be done.
@liamnicholson64794 жыл бұрын
Okay, so how do you "address their hormonal health"?... also I'm sure if they kept from 100 calories to a 500 caloruie defecit they'd lose theur exess fat! Thanks.
@ConsciousCalisthenics4 жыл бұрын
Well of course optimal hormone production is key but I know morbidly obese people who lose weight by eating in a serve calorie deficit and it works every time. As I mentioned to someone who else most people are tracking calories wrong and then most people calculate their calorie intake wrong so they are normally consuming calories in a surplus which of course results in weight loss not occurring. But if they resolve hormonal issues such as high estrogen, low testosterone, low pregnenlone, low progesterone, low DHEA etc then losing weight will be so much FASTER and EASIER!

It is true that you intially will loose a lot of weight if you are overweight and eat less calories that you consume. However, remember that a prolonged low calorie-per-day diet can slow your metabolism (the amount of calories you burn), so it is best to only do it short-term. If your metabolism will drop down to, say, 1500 you'd be really miserable and it would be unsustainable. You would sooner or later gain weight. A great approach could be to try to increase your metabolism long-term and you'd be loosing weight without having to cut your calories. Throwing in some regular fasts could both cut calories and improve your metabolism. Something like a 5:2 diet could be great way to quickly reverse this. It's true that it does not matter what you eat and you can loose fat if you eat fewer calories than you consume. However, remember it is equally important to make sure you burn the maximum amont of calories possible.

while no one specific food eaten alone can make you fat eating certain combinations of food have been show to make you obese. vegetable oils starches and sugars eaten together is what made America obese. animal fats with starches and sugars can do the same to some but it takes way longer, you can lose that fat faster. weight gained thru vegetable oils is harder to lose. america consumed animal fats in all their foods in large quantities, america was thin and healthy till the mid 1970tys, i was there, i saw it first hand. people switched to Crisco, and masala corn oils, then vegetable oils came out, the low prices drove their sales up and with it americas waist line went up too. america didn't need to watch their calorie intakes at all till the early 1980tys thanks to those cheep factory oils. its not rocket science, all you have to do is look at the past and you know why your future is what it is.
