My mom had a fatal stroke at 49. High blood pressure weakened vessels in her brain, and one burst. She never felt unhealthy beforehand, and didn't like taking meds. No doctor told her that it could kill you, so she never worried about it. She just thought they were pushing meds. If she had known what could happen I know she would have done whatever she could to lower it. I miss her every day. I'm surprised the medical community doesn't make it more clear what can happen if you don't treat hypertension. They say take meds, or lose weight, but don't really make it clear WHY. I am very careful about mine, I eat healthy and work out, and so far it has stayed in a normal range, no meds thus far. If anyone can learn from my mom's story, please do. I miss her so much. Thanks for this video. Off to eat more sweet potaty-O's. ;)

My brother in law went to the doctor and after the appointment the results from the doctor sat on the passenger seat saying extremely high blood pressure. He was found in the driver's seat dead that same day after he saw the doctor. He never should have left that office. He should have gone to a hospital. Almost one year ago we lost a sweet sweet man.

This is so sad but taking meds don't resolve the problem it's the source of the problem ...its a deficiency of magnesium ..and meds block magnesium you only get potassium and that is really bad...listen to Carolyn Dean on u tube she covers all of it ..she will educate you so others don't go through this...doctor won't tell you what she does and she is a doctor...so sorry for your loss and pray for you.

I am sorry about your mom to. I am glad you learned from this terrible event. But thank you for sharing, I hope it does help others to. You have to be councious of yourself to feel any symptoms. It's not about just being fit. It's the food we eat, and drinks. They add salt, sodium to our food. That's the trigger. Magnesium absorbs salt.

I do all of this and my bp is still not to the doctors standards (when I go see the doctor). I started taking a beet powder, with my fruit smoothly, and it seemed to help, for a while. I found lifting weights lowers the bp for a while. I started checking my blood pressure every day and discovered that it is more normal than high, 130's to 120's, over 80s' and 70's mostly, sometimes lower.
I've been active all my life, cycling, mountaineering etc. Developed hypertension at age 70 and was put on 5mg of amlopodine. In September (age 73) I went to France cycling up several of the Tour De France cols including Mont Ventoux. Admittedly, I'd recently neglected measuring my BP for some time but did so when I got back. To my surprise my systolic was averaging about 150 and as a consequence the doc has added Ramipril to the cocktail. My very active life obviously has no bearing on my BP progression. Worrying!

Honey flows slowly. "slow".... Honey can calm you down and lower your blood pressure. So honey can make you "slow" like itself... A healthy and beautiful "slow"... A "slowness" as beneficial as honey... "you are what you eat" I liken the shape of the kidneys to the body shape of a person doing sit-ups. It may be a silly comment, but doing sit-ups can be the most beneficial exercise for the kidneys. Indirectly, sit-ups may be the most effective exercise that can lower your blood pressure. Because there is a link between high blood pressure and kidney health. Drinking lots of water and doing sit-ups... At the same time, doing sit-ups is similar to the way the heart beats. It's like opening and closing a fist. It is also associated with the "heart" of high blood pressure. I don't know if opening and closing the fists can be a good exercise for the heart and blood pressure... Any plant that looks upside down can lower blood pressure. The edible roots of garlic and onions are in the soil. But onions and garlic grow upwards. Garlic and onion tubers are similar to "head". Just like a person in a handstand. Maybe doing a handstand is helpful for high blood pressure. A person doing a handstand will look like garlic and onions. Plants growing under the ground are located below the ground level. It's like having the blood pressure "down." Plants grown all underground can lower blood pressure. Man was created from earth. Our body is earth. The similarities shouldn't be surprising. Just conjecture. I am writing with google translate. I hope I have phrased it in an understandable way.

Great video! I use a hand gripper twice a day and it's definitely brought my blood pressure down! By the way, on bloodwork I always come out low on sodium so I use a lot of salt and it doesn't affect my pressure!
@dm51293 жыл бұрын
That is a new concept for me. I will try those isometric exercises. Even though I am on blood pressure medicine I am always scouting new ways how to get off it. I used to be mostly off the medicine but as I get older my blood pressure has increased. Not very high. Between 140 and 150, but I do not want it to be that high.

Kept getting 140/80 at my doctor's appointment so I got a portable blood pressure machine. Now I got 140/76 this morning but just a while ago I got 160/76 and the same number again when I tested myself coming home from work.

In India, they have never had a problem with 130 over 80, especially as we age. List of foods to avoid are pretty much the same for all common major disorders. And, yes. #Exercise And drink water. Stay off the booze as much as possible. Health is wealth. Enjoy the day. It's the only one you've got.

The correct salt ( not the bleached white stuff ) can actually lower your blood pressure.

I’m going to tell you about five common ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen that can cure high blood pressure. 1) Pomegranate juice - This elixir has enough medicinal value to earn the name ‘wonder fruit.’ Scottish researchers from Queen Margaret University have identified how amazing it works for lowering blood pressure. 2) Celery - A recent study based in China, published by the National Institute of Health (NIH), hails celery as a great natural option for reducing blood pressure. More than 87% of the participants showed a reduction in blood pressure after consuming celery regularly. 3) Melatonin - It’s been used for years as a natural sleeping medicine with no side effects. But surprisingly, an Italian research study published in the American Journal of Hypertension shows it also brings blood pressure down while you sleep. 4) Hawthorn - Hawthorn extract and hawthorn berries have been shown to have very good blood pressure-lowering effects, almost equivalent to prescription drugs. The best thing about hawthorn is that it not only lowers blood pressure, but also strengthens heart muscles. 5) Quercetin - A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has reported that a 200 mg supplement of quercetin increased levels of nitric acid in the blood, thus dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. But we saved the best for last. The most effective, quickest and easiest way to lower blood pressure naturally are 3 easy blood pressure exercises. Click here : tinyurl.com/yy2443ya?

@CarolLiege2 жыл бұрын
The current thinking on salt is that table salt is less problematic than all the "hidden" salt in processed foods you buy in a bag, box, or can. Prevention Magazine recommends you mix 65% of your table salt with 35% of salt substitute (potassium), and 10% Epsom salts.

I was just diagnosed with it, and I'm very upset too. Not over weight, eat well, could exercise a bit more but I'm not a slacker. My doctor said it's just genetics sometimes, but it really bothers me. If by chance you're on birth control, taking decongestants, consuming large amounts of caffeine... these can raise it. We can beat this thing! Do have your doctor check you out, high BP is nothing to dismiss. You've got this!

Did you mean “flax oil” or flaxseed?
@railspony4 жыл бұрын
Flax seeds can be hard to eat, so people usually take the oil instead. It is the omega-3 that gives the benefit, it is the oil. For example the omega-3 eggs, they feed the chickens flax seed. They don't use oil because chickens like seeds. Humans don't have gizzards, though, we have to chew. So oil is easier.
