Finally, an honest KZbin video on working on a vehicle. This is exactly how my 10 minute jobs turn into 60 minutes jobs - if I'm lucky! Thanks for sharing with us so we know the tricks on this.

You're welcome mate. I agree I could have done things better. I was thinking this when doing the job and filming. I always say why pay someone to do a job that you can do yourself, then I wouldn't have been able to make this video. Plus it was removing 1 bolt right oh well 2 bolts in the end. How hard can that be?
@rayreyes849212 күн бұрын
Le encontré un detalle la regrese a su altura normal, ya que la pata lateral queda mas larga y como consecuencia la moto mas vertical y el riesco de caer es mas grande

I reckon with the bigger tyres and getting tall seat on mine. i may have to try this. Might be safer to use the scissor lift, but ill still tie bars to the roof because i had bikes fall over on me. Cheers mate.

Yes I need a scissor lift for sure. I should have used 2 straps I think to hold it up properly

Flat broke but lots of comedy gold! Looked like you had nearly more falls on the bike while working on it than riding it! I wouldn't have thought the dog bones would have to come off to lower the link arm pivot? But, i dont have one yet🤦 When i get rhe tall seat & lower the bike that 20mm i wonder how this will pan out. Cheers for showing the long way round!
@FlatBrokeAdventures4 ай бұрын
I didn't think I'd have to remove the dog bone either but the bolt wouldn't come out. The dog bone need to be moved only about 3 or 4 mm. It was that close
@stevesanelli904 ай бұрын
@@FlatBrokeAdventures ahh, got it. The head of the bolt doesn't clear the dog bone profile? So at this stage, probably best to load the bike rather than lift the rear end? As soon as mine comes in, that what I'll see. Cheers

You may need to lower the front also because lowering the back would have increased the trail slowing the steering.
@FlatBrokeAdventures4 ай бұрын
Yes I was thinking bout lowering it about 10 - 15mm
@lawrieyoutube43752 ай бұрын
@@FlatBrokeAdventures Q1 Did lowering the link have any impact on the steering that you noticed? How did you find the new ride? Q2 Can the front suspension even be lowered? The bike was clearly predesigned to have this frame lowering change made. I am 180cm but have a long back rather than long legs. I'm finding my 450MT just a smidge too tall and can not quite flat foot. This means I can't splay my legs out for balance as far as I'd like when stopped. The bike fell over once when I stopped and put my foot down into a small hollow unexpectedly. Once the bike over-balanced I couldn't save it. I'm getting the centre stand fitted at the first service (ordered with the new bike but unavailable), and I think I will get them to change the link for me.
@FlatBrokeAdventures2 ай бұрын
@@lawrieyoutube4375 Q1. no I have not noticed any difference in the handling. I love the bike. Q2.yes the front can be lowered. I have a center stand I just haven't fitted it yet. I'll be interested to see how much ground clearance it looses once installed.
@lawrieyoutube43752 ай бұрын
@@FlatBrokeAdventures Thanks. Yep it is great to throw around when underway. Losing a bit of ground clearance won't bother me, my days of leaping and rotating the bike over a big log are behind me. I'd love a vid of you lowering the front. I suspect a lot of others would as well.
@FlatBrokeAdventures2 ай бұрын
@@lawrieyoutube4375 yes they are great bikes. I've never been able to jump logs etc. Actually I've ever tried I've only been riding 7 years and it's all been on road. I'm happy with the bike now so 'm ot going to bother lowering the front as it will lower the bike more and I'm still to put the centre stand on. I'll make a video on that soon. I have to finish recovering from my stack almost 3 weeks ago.

@FlatBrokeAdventures4 ай бұрын
If I'd just removed the 2 bolts at first it would have been easier. Instead of trying to only take out 1 bolt on the shock to get the job done. I could have also used another method to hold the bike up off the ground instead of using a ratchet strap to lift it.
