I have a 85 gmc c20 that's my daily. And a factory 79 GMC short bed 454 that was my grandparents. Im putting a 5.3 in the 79.

I have 4 squarebodies now. 84 k5 with 454 8" lift, 73 k5 mostly stock, 90 suburban, and a 79 c10. The c10 i will be swapping an ls. i have a 4.8 laying around so i will be swapping it on my channel

Did mine this weekend. Power steering pump hookup is difficult very little room to hook up the hose. How and where are you planning on pulling the vacuum for the th400 and booster. I tee-d mine off the rear port? Also what is your plan for the throttle and transmission kick down?

No there really isn't any smog stuff. There's a exhaust gas recirc but if your using aftermarket exhaust you just plug it off on the intake. That's really only on the early 2000s truck engines I'm pretty sure

@@JovaniDanteGriego I thought the same because if I'm not mistakin I believe 81 was the last year for the painted bumpers. Those 81 through 82 year models with the single headlamps are super rare nowadays.

Your 85 tank doesn’t have baffles 87 started with a efi they have baffles may want to look into that with the matching sender. United by trucks did a video on last swapping their square body and dicks garage did one as well both on you tube

So far I haven't spent any money other than what I bought the truck for. 2500. I bought a parts truck for 1200 I made 1400 off of the parts truck and bought some engine mounts and trans mount for around 200

@@JovaniDanteGriegowhen i got my 68 it cost me a 1000 bucks still has the factory paint .they rebuilt the 327 with a bunch of new parts then they left water in it and cracked the block that how i got the truck cheap and most parts like distributor carb fuel pump are the same as a big block the rest of the parts i gave to my kid for his 67 pu then i got a stroked 454 with a heavy duty 400 turbo with 6000 miles on it the engine on the paper work said it had a steel crank heavy rods crate engine 450 hp at 485 torque for free with a bunch of other stuff just to give u an idea i had to clean up all the cars and trucks and parts from a big ranch and the guy liked to build cars i would say it was worth close to 150,000 worth of stuff a lot of new stuff and they paid me to take it there was 19 rigs most were pu but 4 camaro's and 2 nova's

I guess everyone just likes LS swaps their cheap easy large community support but why every other swap is a LS swap why no V6 or Inline6 everyone just has to have a big v8 I guess but back to my original thought it might just be cause it's the easiest good power more support info and specialty parts cause it's more commonly done ... I'm not a Prius pusher but I kinda wish more ppl would get cars and smaller vehicles for commuting when your just moving 1 person I love bikers for this reason using less fuel using a much smaller vehicle and 1 person so using less resources this is how our society functions is vehicles and gas , just wish ppl were a little more sensitive to the environment and wastefulness but I know it's nicer for happiness too but I do think when you don't have a big family or even a small family if a sedan or some kind of small car is enough I think more ppl should get cars they usually have 5 seats 4 doors more than enough for most situations and you get so much more for less money just my opinion why I set my sights on a sedan got so much newer than I thought I could got a 2015 1.8 got a manual like I wanted and it's just a good small car got 47 k miles for 11k$ and I can do most things others do with SUVs and truck's for daily stuff , unless you go off-road or haul stuff basically have a real need for a suv or truck wish more ppl would go with cars... Vans are a good choice to have more room inside than a suv and tend to use less gas also but you have to really look around they do tend to be less reliable than SUVs but that's changing, And on that note there are smaller SUVs ant truck's to smaller engine and setup so better in gas there are options in all classes sorry I know this is so random I just think it's something that needs a little more often thought...

I can tune an LS to get 25+ mpgs on the highway in a 6000lb truck. I understand your argument but every engine I've ever swapped was worse environmentally then an LS was. Sure I can out a v6 in this almost 7000 pound truck but I would have to keep the rooms up and low gears to keep it moving, meaning I'm using far more gas than a V8.
