Oh man i hate to tell ya you had the correct manifolds on the new motor. You just need the doughnut gasket that slips into that hole. Good episode non the less. Its nice to see someone other then me struggle sometimes lol.

As someone that's dealt with swaps not going smoothly. I feel your pain! Hopefully things start going in a better direction with it.

Definitely the same style manifold haha, that piece is a donut that you can pretty easily remove. Mine just fell out when I did mine. Live and learn, swapping manifolds is easy anyways

The manifolds changed in 03' I believe. They changed the frame on the trucks so they were able to change the manifolds and it gave the engine a little more power.

Yup I agree the forklift was a great idea. I also liked some of the music. It reminded me of pamela anderson or yasmine blithe on baywatch and their t****** flopping everywhere when they ran

You pulled the torches out just in time. I was thinking, this guy needs to know the value of a torch!!lol I've never seen anybody remove fuel lines like that. I did see my dad make a tool out of a soda bottle though..

@@jeanlawson9133 it has its pros and cons. Like computer system. It was 900 bucks. However, I can now run multi fuel, or my wife can drive this car without flooding it to start it. The cost of the motor, for me, was -100. I bought a 2500 Chevy truck for 500, sold the truck for 400, plow for 150, and ecu for 50. I’m not a tech guy, but I was told I should have kept the cats and sold them. If this was a normal small block it would be running already. I’m just fishing through wires now.

Hey I subscribe to your channel so I don't have to hear the Motor Trendy phrase "if we don't get the vehicle finished in time we will lose the shop!!' Just kidding glad you had time to put together another video. I imagine your work keeps you very busy.

I like your idea of Notrod coffee. After this episode maybe consider "Notrod 11pm Sunday night wrench throwing Bourbon"?

I still can't believe people pay anywhere near $1000 for that engine. I buy those 99-10 trucks and sell the engines running with the wire harness and guage cluster etc for $400. The u pull it near me in pa sells those engines running and loaded in your truck bed complete for $160

Old Chevy trucks are much easier to swap engines in if you just pull the transmission at the same time. Much easier to pull drive shaft, mount, linkage, or transmission lines, than fighting bell housing bolts especially torque convertor bolts too. Just my observation from back in the days that I drove them daily, and it was my hot rod too. Just saying

I actually disagree, which is why I did it that way but to each their own.

@@NotRodShop agreed, but I appear to be a larger person than yourself, and while your hands may fit into places mine don't. We all adapt ways to accommodate the same task in what works best for us, and in doing so we formulate different techniques. Yet, we all struggle with the same areas, such as exhaust bolts snapping off, mounts being a pain for whatever reason, so that on a whole it all generally comes up about the same time frame give or take a little here or there. So all remains is getting it completed in a timely manner, so that in your case, having the shop back in order for everyday use is restored, and in others, it's ready for the drive to work on Monday morning without missing any time there. So wherever across the country it all boils down to accomplishing the end results. Y'all have a Great Day, and may Tomorrow be even Better than today.

Yeah because that's never been done, huh?lol These trucks literally came factory with big blocks! The LS will make more HP, not quite the torque and will lose about 200lbs. It will also drive nicer, be more dependable and get double the mpgs, so why don't you do your own big block swap.. lol (not being serious. Well, I'm being serious, just not really trying to be an azz, just pokin fun with facts..)
