How to maintain your Shark® Vertex™ DuoClean® PowerFins Cordless Stick® Vacuum

I've read a few people say negative things about one or more aspects of this company. I called about a problem I was having with my IONFlex 200 DUO. They sent me what looks like a brand new Vertex DuoClean Powerfins cordless. The IONFlex was under warranty but I was not expecting to receive a brand new Vertex. I didn't have to send my old one back or anything. This is one of if not the best customer service experiences of my life and this Vertex is so outstanding I felt compelled to order more accessories for it. I plan on keeping this thing for a long tine

how do you clean behind the power fins? I can see (and smell) a lot of grime there, but it seems impossible to clean it without prying the wheels off and using a hex key with a pin hole in it. why oh why?

I was looking to upgrade my cordless vacuum, but not a fan of that stick design, it really makes no sense. That Ion P50 you guys used to make, was great, make a new one of those and I'll buy a bunch.

Thank you for asking, Mary! You can hand wash the filters and leaving them to dry for at least 24 hours, but you do not have to clean them in the kitchen. That will depend on your personal preferences!

Once the soft roller has been removed, you can handwash it as needed. Use only water, and let air-dry completely for at least 24 hours. Another way to clean the soft roller, remove it, and tap loose debris off the Soft Roller. Use a dry towel to wipe the Soft Roller clean, and to remove any debris caught in the teeth behind the Soft Roller. Let it completely air dry before reinserting it.

Yes you can rise the dust cup. once it is rinsed place it on its side with the lid open to allow it to air dry for at least 24 hours.

I've had this vacuum for 2 years.... the battery is dead, the roller has been replaced 4 times,the fin inside is shredded and I don't know how to replace that. I do not recommend. My electric shark vacuum I still have...and its been through the ringer.

What's a "coin"???

You can use any coin, like a dime, nickel, or quarter, to turn the locking screws on the bottom of the floor nozzle to access the brushroll.

This thing is junk. We've had it for 9 months now and I've taken it apart and cleaned it and it still doesn't have good suction. Nothing is clogged anywhere. It used to suck throw rugs right off the floor, now it can't even suck a piece of paper up.
