I moved to WA State to change careers and start a BASW program, with intentions to complete a MSW. I moved to Seattle because the avg income for an MSW is around 70k but with some salaries going beyond 100k in the city. I was looking this morning at potential companies to work for and the range of pay was from 5,500 month to 9,800, with an MSW and 2 years of experience. Practicum experience is ok. Cost of living is expensive in Seattle, like you said you don’t have to live in the city. I start the BASW program this September! I’m excited to get started. Thank you for your videos, I’ve been watching them for a few years now and it has helped me make a decision to go into social work.

😭Congrats! So happy and excited for you! I’m also honored to be part of your social work journey! Visit Grey-Sloan Memorial for me 😂! Seriously, I have a friend who moved there and he loves it! And yes, he makes what you mentioned without his clinical license! Wishing you all the best! KIT!

One position that I didn’t mention is working as a mental health coach/ providing concierge mental health services. I’ve been recruited for these positions but was scared to take them because they were so out of the box (silly rabbit). Now I’m praying for one of these positions 😂! These tend to be high profile, affluent patients. Have you heard of these positions? Let me know.

I'm interested in learning more about this. I'm a MSW LCSW in Missouri and Minnesota.

I am a social work educator at the top of my Career I was making approximately $80-90k, this included teaching summers and course overloads. I’ve had the opportunity to train the next generation of social workers. I recently retired from full-time teaching and opened a consulting business and I am an adjunct instructor for an online DSW program. I am considering my next move and this video was helpful as I move to the end of my social work working career, I am considering doing trainings and counseling specifically for social workers, a social work podcast and blog. Thank you❤️

You have such a pleasant voice! But I'm a school based therapist in Maryland. I'm trying to expand my social work career and move into a macro position. I'm trying to get to 6 figures within the next 2 years! Thanks for this video.

I live and work in NYC and I have just moved into the 90k range with a job with the state. I am still chasing the full 100k but here it might as well be like 40k🤦🏽♀️….. God help us all out here doing the Lord’s work. Great discussion

I live in NYC if you don't mind what do you do and where do you work?

Great question. Many are for both! You may need supervision for some such as private practice, but it’s quite possible. Especially entrepreneurial ventures.

Thank you for this video. I’m in the process of completing my associates degree in Human Services before I transfer and complete my bachelors in social work. I already started looking for jobs and the agency I work for pays pennies. I’ve been looking to change agencies just to gain more experience in my field of study and to get paid more. I would love to do travel social work though!

What is a reasonable salary to pursue right after graduating with a MSW?
@DonzellLampkins2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I’d say $50k tentative you’re applying to positions that REQUIRE an MSW. It also depends on your location. Look up salary trends in your area and the number of years of post msw experience they have.
