I haven't been creating new listings quite at the same rate as my original comment because of something that happened in my life, but I'm still actively working on the page. Just watched this one again. I found your channel last year after your first video with Cassiy. When you said that you were going to do 1000 listings or 1 year, I thought that was a great idea and made it my goal. One I hit my first 1000 listings, I told myself I’d stick with it for a year and then decide. My year passed in October and I haven’t thought about that in months, months, months. I guess I subconsciously made up my mind a few months before that. Your comment bringing that up again was a great reflection of how it felt to keep that promise to myself, even if I had long forgotten it. It’s nice to think about how much has changed since that time!

Slow growth is so much more relatable. Someone that made it there fast - it's not the majority. It makes it seem less attainable. Or like if you didn't get there, you are failing. And people give up more quickly. It can also be intimidating - like if I open a shop right now for the things I make - I wouldn't want to hit crazy sales right away. I don't have the bandwidth to meet high demands because I still have a fulltime job and a son and a home renovation to get through etc. So I appreciate that you showed the slower sales here.

As someone who is not an emotional man, you kinda had me tearing up talking about Tucker! This gave me the motivation to not give up on Etsy! I started like, 3 days ago after watching countless hours of POD videos and designing shirts, and I uploaded 12 listing and got the dreaded new account suspension...and I was about to give up. I started the appeal process, but I figured it won't come back. You will notice many KZbinrs sharing their Etsy journey don't share their shop names. I always so wished they would as I was so eager to learn from their example! I came to understand that this is because this would send a lot of traffic to the shop which would normally be a wonderful thing if that traffic were likely to be purchasing a shirt. But with a channel like this most of the traffic would be clicking around the store looking for examples instead of making a purchase. This would hurt the shops conversion rate (the percentage of people who click in and purchase) and as a result the shop could drop in ranking, be less visible in search results, and have decreased sales. Hope that all makes sense! But I am happy to share lots of my numbers, data, experiment findings, and strategies I use so that you can implement them in you own shop. Hope this helps!

So the biggest chunk is the Print on Demand costs. Maybe I should do a video with this break down! I usually get to keep about 28 percent of the revenue after paying the Print Shop. They print and ship the products for you which is why this becomes passive and allows you to scale to big numbers as it frees your time up to create new listings. Hope this super quick explanation helps at least a little!!

I know that right now is the time to plan for the holidays and I torn on whether to look for a new job, because I just moved to Scottsdale, AZ to be closer to my son and am living off my savings or pursue this full time and really create more designs. I have an etsy shop, and I recently opened a 2nd one. It took me 6 months to reach 205 sales in my first shop. Good luck on your new channel - I love that you are so transparent. I had a good Shopify store a few years ago when the first boom started. Then the software I was using sh%$ the bed and I was losing profits so I shut down the shop. You make me want to start again.

Hi Cherokie! Once you have lots of items available and get the momentum going you will be able to build up to a nice volume of items selling! I have tried different pricing strategies through out this journey ranging from $4 profit to $9 profit on most items. Most of my items are right around $7-$8 profit right now:)

Great video. Congrats on your success. I think the key that most miss is Etsy takes TIME to work. 1 year it starts moving nicely, 2 years it's a lot of fun, 3 years is wicked. BUT most can't get past the first 3 months without quitting. :)

Hi there! I am so excited for you!!!! Whoo hoo!!! Just five days ago! I kept my store pretty much a secret until about month 3 and was still able to get traction. You got this! Thank you for all the great suggestions in your comments! I think I've got like three video topics I can take a deep dive in from that. I promise to do a video on the topic of product/niche selection within the next few weeks. I will leave you with this quick tip for now! I think its super important to choose just three to 5 niches to be designing in and just go hard there! Maybe one or two seasonal ones like St. Patricks Day and 2 or 3 evergreen niches (ones that sell all year). Start with hobbies, sports, interests, or a profession that are meaningful to you. It will make it easier to be inspired. Stick with the seasonal ones until it's time to trade them in for the nest holiday and go hard on the evergreen ones for a few months before trying something different. It takes time to build traction and learn how to make a desirable design. You got this!

Thanks so much for the encouragement in my new adventure here on KZbin! My Etsy shop has seriously changed my life! I can't wait to hear updates about the journey you are about to embark on! Get that shop open and you are going to be soooooooo incredibly glad you did! There are lots of tutorials on youtube on how to open your Etsy shop and sync it with a Print On Demand Company. It will take you about an hour and half to complete the process. Sticking points - you have to enter a shop name. Don't get stuck here! You can always change it later! Get this task done so you can LIST with me!

Yo vivo ahora en Canadá y la conversión a dólar canadiense es medio alta . Para abrir tienda necesitas cuenta bancaria y Eda cuenta nunca la puedes cambiar . Sera siempre esa. Si consigues abrir cuenta gringa capaz de haría más fácil x lo de la conversión . Pero lo de los taxes es local, o sea tu país .

This helps me show up when people filter their search to only look for items that have free shipping. But lots of successful shops don't have free shipping. Don't get stuck there! Just choose a method and move on! Thanks for the question! I may do a deeper dive about this in a video!
