To clarify cars are exempt from Capital Gains Tax (as they are a wasting asset). However, If you buy and sell cars too frequently, with the intention of making a profit, HMRC may deem that you are ‘trading’. As a result, HMRC will tax any profit that you make as if it were income (taxes 20%-45%).

Not familiar with the UK but in the US you'd still have to pay taxes. Capital gains taxes are for investments here, you still have to pay earned income tax on any goods or services you sell that turn a profit.

Ferrari is stupid about the VIP list. You can't just buy a car unless it is near base models, even if you are willing to pay double. Then, they actually look at their VIP list to ensure those people don't modify or deface their car, or you can't purchase another. They don't make great cars, and because of this list, I would never go to Ferrari. As stated, you also sign stating that you will not sell it for x time or only to a dealer. Then, at the same time, people will register it as a company purchase and then they sell the business, thus selling the car.
