Circuit Description:
This circuit is based on lm3914 dot/bar LED driver IC which consist of 10 comparators. we can set the on off timing of comparators using a resistor network and can drive LEDs as output level indication.

is there a way you can put a switch at the input to turn the board on/off? If you just solder this onto a battery (Laptop battery pack) this circuit will remain on continuously and drain the battery

Very good sir. The agm.sla or vrla batteries practical voltage is 10,8 to 13,8 volt. Under 10,8 volt severe sulfatation and decrease capaciti(amps hours) battery is need protection circuit.

Use diffused LEDs for direct viewing. It's easier on your eyes and widens the effective viewing angle.
