Thank you so much. As someone trying to teach themselves with no access to education and trying to work a day job and jeweler at night. You can not know how enriching and empowering this type of content, lecture, video is.

Cheap plumbers blow torch, modified pliers.. Your a man after my own heart🤙🏼lol.. I came from a carpentry background and got into jewellery few years back an i never looked back so i modified alot of tools myself, made burnishers etc lol.. I really love that setting with the 2 prongs on each corner, very nice design, very nice Art Deco style to it. You got my subscription today, cant wait to see more of your work✌🏼

I didn’t realise how much, the jewellers Art is solitary. I get so distracted from the precision, when people talk or the door bell rings. Always have one of the KZbin jewellers or gemstone tutorials playing. Learning and applying the techniques has advanced my rudimentary into presentable items. Thank-you.

Yes now im working from home I have had to discipline myself to not be distracted too easily. Its different when working for a company

Reminds me shop class. Even though I was dead on, the teacher still said to me:" You eyeballed it didn't you?". My prodject was much better than most. Not sure if he just watched me. But he knew. Not sure if it was a compliment or jest. Passed the class top marks.

Congrats! It good to be able to work in a way trusting your sight and not relying on measuring gauges all the time.

Great tutorial! You have helped me trust my eye more. I am working much faster than before. Today, I made along a triangle bezel for a large stone. It is really super nice to have you keeping me company in my studio. More tips on trusting your eye, please. Thanks!

Thanks for this. I've been learning as I go and I work full time so it's nearly impossible to take in person classes. I've been stuck between the jump from tube setting to fancier prong settings. I really appreciate the time you take with your videos and I find them very helpful.

I'm not familiar with the term "gate" as applied to jewelry. Help?
@DiamondMounter4 жыл бұрын
It refers to the traditional english countryside gates that are used around farm land. They are wide with lots of horizontal bars

@@DiamondMounter Cool. Another American here trying to learn English! lol
@DiamondMounter4 жыл бұрын
@@gofaux2007 Haha. There is also a chance the description 'gate' may only be used amongst a small circle of jewellers in London. Other cities may call it by a completely different name!

@@DiamondMounter Great! I will always refer to that style as "gate" so people will think I'm a highly skilled Bond Street goldsmith. lol
