I randomly noticed these in my backyard this second year in my property 😅 Just in time because I realized I needed natural shampoo and was avoiding using anything on my hair. I'm gonna go outside and squeeze the cones over a bowl and try this out 😍😍😍😍😍

Hi Rob, nice to meet you and thanks for the excellent video. I found 2 of these growing in the side yard of a house in Florida I bought 3 years ago. Being from the north originally I had no idea what they were and was astounded, particularly by the flower or fruit? Now 3 years later I have over 100 I've cultivated, so easy to grow, actually I don't do a thing and they multiply. The fruit is hitting it's prime right now and I'm harvesting the juice every other day, considering opening a shampoo factory. ; ) cheers.

I came from the instagram video of the lady. The plant seems incredible. the consistency is crazy. Imagining a natural plant having the same consistency as that of a chemical filled shampoo.

Thank you Rob, a number of months ago I posted on LadyLeads channel if she had heard of Awapuhi ginger plant because I wanted to know and see more people checking the benefits of it. I ended up purchasing the Alpinia Purpurata (pink ginger) instead and it growing fine.

Just realized I had one of these growing in my yard and after my first use it’s been genuinely inspiring me to go all natural as much as possible! Would you have any tips on how to preserve it after harvest?
@EcoNeighbor
@EcoNeighbor 3 жыл бұрын
Due to a short life span without adding any preservatives I view it like milk or butter. It has a short shelf life.

That's a nice looking plant. What sort of a fragrance does it have ,any? I wish I could grow it here but it is supposed to only be hardy in zones 8 - 11 according to google, I'm in zone 7b, I might be able to grow it if I had a climate controlled structure over/around it.

If you leave them in the ground they refill & you can harvest more
@EcoNeighbor
@EcoNeighbor 3 жыл бұрын
Correct. I found this to be true. I choose to harvest them due to their short life span. In my grow zone they don't last long. The first cool night the vegetation dies back but root continues to grow and comes back the following late spring.
@toriwiley3372
@toriwiley3372 3 ай бұрын
So they don't have to be cut right? After you harvest the juice while the cone is still attached, then it will refill itself within the next week or two. So I have heard
@EcoNeighbor
@EcoNeighbor 3 ай бұрын
@toriwiley3372 True cutting it is easier to access, and it doesn't kill the plant. In fact, it will create more growth.
