I feel like the Justice League can have distinct personalities if you pick the right members. Superman is the optimist whose altruism and selflessness make him a natural leader. Batman is more pragmatic and intelligent whose strategic mind makes him a possible leader and an asset to the team. Hal Jordan is so confident in his own abilities that he may rush into fights or question whether he needs the team. Barry Allen is incredibly intelligent and an optimist, and can keep the peace between Hal and Bruce. Wonder Woman is very compassionate and actively wants to promote peace through her actions. Aquaman is much more reserved, sometimes believing his royal status means he should lead the team. Martian Manhunter is extremely compassionate and the heart of the team.

How to make a bad Justice League movie: 1) Immediately rush one into production with no build-up or set up. 2) Try to change directors midway through production resulting in a Frankensteinesque mess. But on a serious note, the team dynamic you pitched at the end is exactly the kind of dynamic that the Justice League needs to work. Everyone has a purpose and helps each other develop as characters.

I've had a very hard time trying to explain why I don't like either versions of the justice league movie. To the point where I've just stopped getting involved with superheroes unless in small doses if any at all, such as specific comic arcs or older stories. But you actually broke it down to science. I actually would like to see how your justice league movie would pan out. (But if you do, I will only say this. PLEASE refrain from putting panties on superman. A little modernization is forgivable.)

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how a good Justice League movie would be and honestly I don’t know a lot of what I would do. I know I would have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, A Flash, A Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter. I know I wouldn’t have Cyborg because he’s always been a Teen Titan to me not a member of the Justice League. I would definitely get Hawkgirl on the team too because she’s one of my favourite members of the League and she is a really good character. The main thing I don’t know what to do is which Flash to do (Wally or Barry) and which Green Lantern to do (Hal or John. I like Wally and Hal more but John and Barry are great too and John is important if Hawkgirl is on the team too, that’s how I see it in my mind at least. My main experience of most of these characters is from the Justice League cartoon so I would want the movie to feel like that. This might just sound like rambling but that’s just what’s on my mind I guess.

For the Lantern, either Hal or John can work, although I think John would make the team feel more diverse and would establish a good dynamic between him and Hal. While one is in space the other is on Earth with the League. As for the Flash, I'm Wally fan but I think it's better to start with Barry Allen. Not only he is the average joe of the team, the one the audience can relate but also it would be very impacful if the JL trilogy ended with Barry sacrificing himself to save the world and Wally took over his mantle, representing the end of generation and the begining of new one (just like Cap passing his shield to Falcon represented in the end of Endgame).

You could have John stars in Justice League movies while Hal stars in Green Lantern movies and they can crossover sometimes. Character arcs: -Superman: Clark feels the weight of the world on his shoulders and feels as if he should be the only one to carry that burden. He feels that he should be this infallible, unbeatable, always virtuous hero for humanity so he can show them the way like his father Jor-El told him to. He's far more used to people relying on him than relying on other people. Clark eventually learns through the league that the world has heroes just as capable as he is who are more than willing to share his burden and lighten the load. -Batman: Bruce realizes he's out of his depth and doesn't have time to study the threat before they cause more damage, so he reluctantly helps form the team and acts as the leader. Bruce does his best to be logical but there's far too many uncertainties in this beyond apocalyptic scenario, leading to him internally panicking. Bruce should obviously learn to trust his teammates and know that they'll always do their very best to uphold the justice they believe in, but he's still unsure. Out of calculating that his distrust would inevitably lead to him being an ineffective leader, Bruce gives Clark the leadership role because he's the most trusting person he knows and has his utmost respect. -Wonder Woman: Diana is torn between her upbringing as an amazon and her current position as an ambassador of peace in the world of man. These two sides objectively come into conflict with each other as she tries to bring peace through physical force using her amazonian and divine powers, starting off with a more Batman-like approach when dealing with criminals and terrorist. She also sees that every man in the world is completely different from the last, especially exemplified with the league as their collective egos and uncertainty lead to bickering. Diana by the end of the film learns that she must balance the warrior and the teacher, taking inspiration from both Bruce and Clark in her more refined approach, acting as the final member of the trinity. -Flash: Barry is the most normal of the league. He doesn't have Bruce's intellect, Clark's boundless strength, Diana's nearly unmatched skill, Hal's unbreakable confidence, Arthur's natural leadership, Victor's insecurity, or Oliver's charisma and wit, so he keeps the league human. He at least tries to help the league through their issues. Clark and Diana having trouble relating to beings that they are so much stronger than, Bruce and Oliver feeling useless in comparison to the vastly more powerful league members, Arthur and Victor being torn between humanity and their other halves that they don't understand, and Hal's need to prove himself. He ironically has to tell everyone to slow down. -Green Lantern (Hal Jordan): Despite already being part of a team, Hal's the furthest thing from a team player and tends to take on challenges by himself. Ever since his fathers death, Hal has always had a drive to prove to himself that he's not afraid of anything, leading to him becoming overconfident and reckless with his many successes both as a pilot and a lantern only fueling his mindset. He's used to being the best, the M.V.P, that guy who can do it all no matter the odds (This leads him to relating to Superman, without the humility, and coming into conflict with Batman because they're essentially polar opposites). So when faced with a threat that he can't defeat alone, Hal's certainty of his abilities comes into question. Thanks to a wake up call from Barry and the league, Hal learns that he shouldn't let his confidence become arrogance by keeping his ego in check. -Aquaman: Arthur went from the son of a lighthouse keeper to the king of the sea in a matter of weeks. Of course this would lead to some serious whiplash since he's spent the vast majority of life on land. He's a thrillseeker by nature who's been placed into a position of power that requires him to think for the betterment of not only all atlanteans but the planet's sea life as a whole. After hearing of the threat, Arthur tries to get the atlantean forces to head to the surface and provide aid, only for them to turn him down. With no other options, Curry leaves Mera in charge of Atlantis while he heads to the surface to help in any way he can, leading to him meeting up with the league. Arthur learns that a king is nothing without his subjects and that there are times when an extended hand can do more than a clenched fist. -Cyborg: After the accident, Victor is completely unsure of what he is. He doesn't know where the man ends and the machine begins. It's made worse by how his other half is connected to a being of pure evil hell bent on universal conquest. He questions if he's capable of being a hero if he doesn't have a clue what his machine parts are capable of. Victor learns that while he's more metal than flesh, he's the one in control. As long as Victor Stone is in the metal shell, the man never dies. -Green Arrow: Oliver started out with everything handed to him on a silver platter, but he had to earn his way back to civilization from the island. Ollie sees this as a similar situation where he believes he has to prove to the league that he's worthy of his place among their ranks. In a way, Oliver acts as a balance between Hal and Bruce. He's powerless but also a natural talent with his unparalleled accuracy. Oliver's tenacity and quick thinking leads him to coming out on top in fights where he should be outclassed. Hal and Barry would tell Ollie that it was never his skill set, money, or achievements that got him his spot in the league, but his willingness to uphold justice. That alone, especially without powers, makes him just as much of a hero as the others. These arcs can be spread out across multiple films.

@@thrawnedits5860 I'd probably have them join the league in later films (Maybe Manhunter and Hawkgirl could appear in a credits scene) Martian Manhunter: Unlike Clark, J'onn was present through every moment of his race's destruction and simply cannot bear going through that pain on Earth. Since he can hear the thoughts of nearly every person on the planet, he does his best to help them all, whether their problem is physical or mental. The martian eventually learns that the way he's going about things is simply illogical because he can only solve so many problems in one given moment. He learns that humans are capable of solving their own issues and while it's good to be helpful, he'd prevent a lot of self growth if he just solved everybody's problems for them. Hawkgirl: Being the spawn of a warrior race and two immortals who have lived through dozens of lifetimes leads to a lack of empathy. Her parents did bestow her with a strong sense of justice from their experience with the JSA, but didn't teach her how that justice is to be carried out. Shayera starts out as a heavy handed brute when dealing with criminals because she hasn't experienced love like her parents have with each other and the JSA, a love she will find in the JL (especially J'onn) leading her to becoming merciful in her crime fighting approach. Shazam: It wouldn't be too different from his arks in both the New 52 movies and the foreseeable DCEU. Billy starts out using his powers to show off and fool around because he's a kid in a body that's super strong and practically invincible facing off against villains who 85% of the time pose no threat to him. Billy geeks out when he's offered to join the league and immediately accepts, fanboying over the members throughout his first few battles alongside them. Through conversations with both Superman and Wonder Woman (The former being his favorite superhero and the latter being a fellow champion of the gods and a semi-crush) he learns "Insert Spider-Man quote that everyone knows here" especially for someone as strong as he is. Billy keeps his good heart and sense of humor as the films progress, but he jokes a lot less when people are in danger. Dr.Fate: Despite how his level of power and mastery of magic would prove to be very useful in most of their battles, Dr.F doesn't interact with the league unless the universe is already in grave danger. This is because Nabu, while not evil and certainly good intentioned, is overly logical and cares far more about order across the universe than the beings who inhabit it. This would be in contrast to the helmet's host, be that Kent Nelson or anyone else, who wishes to intervene and use Fate's nearly endless power to save people. This will obviously lead to frequent bickering with both Nabu and the lords of order. The host has to convince Nabu that despite how he can see into the future, even a being as powerful as him can't dictate what actually happens. He can look down on existence for all of eternity, but he must intervene to maintain the balance of order and chaos. (He'd probably have a much larger role in JL Dark films.)

@@thathero5953 justice league dark would be cool and while my ideal team would be dr fate as the leader, zatanna, Constantine, spectre, ragman, deadman, detective chimp, phantom stranger, etrigan the demon and swamp thing, However in reality phantom strangers, Doctor Fate, and the Spectre, especially, extreme power levels would be hard to translate into film. And it would take a long time to introduce all those characters. Another question are you a writer because you seem to have very good ideas

To be honest, I liked how Zack used JL as sort of an origin story for some of the characters, how they were all in very different stages of their development. They weren’t all growing parallel to each other. Batman had been around for a long time and was getting old, making his experience the greatest asset to the team, Superman was the world’s only real superhero at that point and was the rallying symbol for the league, WW had been around for a while but needed to be called back into action, Aquaman was around but was just sort of an outcast who used his abilities for good anonymously and needed the League to give him a sense of purpose and belonging, setting him up to later take on the throne of Atlantis, and both Barry and Victor were still grappling with their newfound abilities and realized the good they could do with them thanks to their experience with the team. I found that really cool.

I guess that's a good way to look at it. But the Justice League isn't like other superhero teams, it's a combination of multiple distinct mythos, and that didn't come through with Snyder's movie because nothing was set up, neither was anything particularly distinct about the 'worlds' each hero came from. So you can focus on the team and these different people mix, that's just the appeal with the League unlike say the X-Men with their classes. The X-Men are in more-so the same environment, tone, y'know in the same world aside from like Wolverine. THEY start together as a team, the Justice League however, should feel like these worlds colliding for the first time in my opinion.

My idea for how I would make a JL movie, as well the phase 1 of the new DC Cinematic universe, would be this The Batman 2 Fancast: Batman (Robet Pattison), Robin/Dick Grayson (Jaeden Martell), Ventriloquist (Toby Jones), Mr Freeze (Ralph Fiennes) Plot: A noir detective story in the same way the previous film. It would Introduce Dick Grayson, showing him being adopt by Batman and helping him find the responsible for the death of the Flying Grayson. The Villains would be The Ventriloquist & Scarface and Mr Freeze. Superman For Better Tomorrow Fancast: Superman (David Corenswet); Lois Lane (Natalia Dyer); Jimmy Olsen (Noah Schnapp); Parasite (Doug Jones); Lex Luthor (Billy Zane) Plot: A traditonal super hero film. Shows Superman first days in Metropolis, the begining of his romance with Lois and he dealing with the pressure of being the city’s hero. The villains would be Parasite and Lex Luthor. Flash Fastest Man Alive Fancast : Flash (Lucas Till); Iris West (Lily James); Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) Gorilla Grodd (Keith David) Plot: A “Sam Raimi Spider man” style super hero film. Barry Allen would be come the Flash and team up with Jay Garrick, a speedster from Earth 2, to save Central City from Gorilla Grodd. Zatanna Fancast: Zatanna (Ana de Armas); Jeff Sloane (Arthur Darvill) Felix Faust (Robert Englund); Zatara (Colm Feore) Plot: A mix of “Indiana Jones Last crusade” and Harry Potter. Zatanna and her agent Jeff Sloane would go on quest to find her father, who was kidnap by the sorcerer Felix Faust, who wants to find three mystical artifacts (the Jar, bell and wheel) he can pay his debt with the demons Abnegazar , Rath nd Ghast (basically Fausts would be the Dr Facilier of the DC universe) Superman & Batman World’s Finest Fancast: Superman (David Corenswet); Batman (Robet Pattison); Robin/Dick Grayson (Jaeden Martell); Lex Luthor (Billy Zane); Black Mask (Jon Hamm); Metallo (Ben Barnes) Plot: A buddy cop style movie. Superman would go to Gotham and teams up with Batman and Robin to stop a gang war between Penguin and Black Mask (who is reciving weapons from Lex Luthor). At first Superman and Batman wouldn’t get along, however it’s their bond with Dick Grayson that inspires them to work together Wonder Woman the Journey’s begin Fancast: Wonder Woman (Daisy Ridley); Silver Swan (Tilda Swinton); Ares (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) Plot: A epic sword fantasy adventure, with Diana arriving at Man’s World and, with the help her friends (agent Steve Trevor and the archeologist Julia Kapatelis), growing from a naive stubborn warrior, with very strong feminist views of the world, to more compassionate hero, who sees the good in Man’s World. The villains would be Silver Swan and Ares (who would be Diana recurring villain in the trilogy). Green Lantern In Brightest Day... Fancast: Hal Jordan (Alden Ehrenreich); Carol Ferris (Charlotte Hope); Sinestro (Luke Evans); Killowog (Kevin Michael Richardson); Arisia (Chloë Grace Moretz); Ganthet (Michael Gambon); Sayd (Maggie Smith); Scar (Gleen Close); Krona (Hugo Weaving) Plot: A space adventure film Hal Jordan is recruited into the Green Lantern Corps, having Sinestro as his mentor and partner, and gains the Lanterns trust and respect after helping them in battle agains the Manhuters, lead by Krona. Justice League Secret Origin Fancast: Superman (David Corenswet); Batman (Robet Pattison); Wonder Woman (Daisy Ridley); Flash (Lucas Till); John Stewart (Mustafa Shakir); Zatanna (Ana de Armas); J’onn J’onzz (Colin Salmon); Protex (Iwan Rheon). Plot: A epic super hero film. The heroes would be reunite by J’onn J’onzz, who ask their help to return to Mars and stopping the Hyperclan, a group of white martians (lead by J’onn nephew, Protex), from stealing Earth energy to save their planet. The villains also capture Hal Jordan, but not before he was able to send his ring to John Stewart, who joins the heroes to save his friend. The final scene would have Starro cameo and the Justice League fighting him (reference to New Frontier), revealing themselves as team to the world for the first time, with no one knowing about their adventure in Mars. That’s why the film title is Justice League SECRET origins.

I love everyone’s take on a DCEU, my only problem’s with yours is Robert Pattinson (he did Fantastic but his Batman isn’t built for justice league) and we’re getting into Flash of two worlds and worlds finest based storylines too quickly. @@kaustubhpalkar792 That's new and interesting idea but I think all these cameos could cause the same problem as BvS and probably Flash: Too much stuff and less focus on the main character. To build up for JL movie it's important to establish the world of each of the heroes first in their separate movies to then bring all together in the big crossover. Also who would be the Green Lantern of your JL? Hal Jordan or John Stewart?

I think one thing that any Justice league movie needs to do is to make each member distinct with their own skills. Don’t make Superman the most overpowered member who solves everything. Have each of them be good at their own thing. Maybe hawkgirl is the best at flight. Batman is obviously the smartest of the team. Stuff like that:

Oh my god I've been seriously loving these videos man. It just clicked to me how you did a focused trilogy for Clark, an grand saga for Hal, and an solo masterpiece for Barry. And I love how you bring out what's unique about these characters, and as you say what a good Justice League movie should do is make the dialogue feel personalized. I've always thought this was extremely important for ensemble stories, and while this should be obvious, it's not something I really feel like we got from ensemble movies like Josstice League, Eternals, Fan4stic nor the Snyder Cut. These are some of my favorite superheroes of all time(Supes on top), and what I think makes a bad Justice League movie is failing to adapt what makes EACH OF THEM unique. And missing the point, core and finer depth of the character. What makes them work. It's not even about comic accuracy, it's the question of 'why adapt something you aren't truly going to adapt'?

Well, the answer is pretty simple. Have transformers be actual characters of the story instead of an excuse for some big bangs. For example, have Optimus Prime be an actual leader instead of just some robot who monologues a lot, give others the reasons to follow him (also don't have him to be a douchebag, real Optimus Prime will never kill someone who saved his life, even if it his mortal enemy) Have decepticons be sentient beings instead of just some monsters or stereotypically evil guys (also don't give them monstrous appearence, after all decepticons and autobots are the same race after all, characters design is another thing movies messed up btw) And be sure to make it a Transformers movie, not human movie with transformers.

I know everyone hate the Joss-tice league, but I appreciated the fact Joss tried to make the heroes more... Heroic ? At least with what Zach already filmed . Especially Superman. Things werent as dark, boring and depressing as Batman V Superman. But yeah its a messy movie with weird cgi and conflicting tone, but I thought it was a step in the right direction for DC.

I thought it went too far into the campy territory. Many of the new scenes really made no sense (who the heck robs a place like that and Batman let them go?), a lot of the jokes made no sense (let's discredit stories of possible alien encounters in a world where Aliens are KNOWN to exist), and oversaturation of colours to the point where everyone looks like they got a bad sunburn.

My personal pitch for a JL movie would be a hybrid adaptation of JUSTICE by Alex Ross & Jim Krueger and Tower of Babel by Mark Waid & Howard Porter, one thing to note is that this is following 6 other pitches for solo members of the League (Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman & Green Lantern, to not make this too long I'd list the key plot points: - Starts with a nightmare sequence where every hero sees themselves failing to save the world - Brainiac is the antagonist, he hacks Batman's computers and obtains the plans to neutralize each member of the League, which he then gives to the villains each hero fought in their previous solo movies - Almost every hero is incapacitated, nearly killed, Batman manages to escape and tries to quickly save each hero - From this point the team begins to form (No one still knows that the plans they were attacked with were from Batman) - By this point, Barry is waiting to marry Iris, Hal is trying to balance his responsibilities as a Lantern and his life on earth, Diana is still adjusting to living among mortals, Clark has just learned about the world he comes from in his solo movie and Bruce is suffering of intense paranoia after the events of his solo movie (Which I based on Court of Owls) - The team learns about Brainiac, who at this point unites the villains promising them a spot to rule the earth (Which of course is a lie), Lex is the only one to pick on this and actually sets up a betrayal against Brainiac - All of this leads to the final confrontation, which at first resembles the nightmare where the heroes failed, but while in the nightmare they were on their own, here they begin to overcome it by fighting together - The final battle against Brainiac happens in his ship as he tries as a last measure to blow up earth like he did Krypton (Which is a revelation from the Superman solo movie) - By the end Batman reveals the plans to take down the league were his, so while the League is formed, there's now a friction towards Batman, who by the end of this film learns he needs to begin trusting again

Why Trevor Donovan for Aquaman? Believe me, he was my top pick for Aquaman about two years ago. But that was when I solely fancasted on appearance. Donovan has basically only starred in Hallmark movies for the past decade, he's just a pretty face tbh. I think you should go with Jordan Patrick Smith. He's Scottish-Australian, 33 years old, and 6'1". He can play the warrior type like he did in the show Vikings and can play the clean-cut version of Aquaman like he did in Lovecraft Country. Love the video and can't wait for Part 2!!

It’s a team origin story that doesn’t beat around the bush and gets straight to the action in a fun, exhilarating way. Ideal Roster (first movie): 1. Batman 2. Superman 3. Wonder Woman 4. Martian Manhunter 5. John Steward (Green lantern) Obviously you need the holy trinity at least in the first film, and Martian Manhunter needs some love. He is such a good character that has been completly neglected. John Steward complete the roster alternatively you can use Hal Jordan but I like John better and he has been more relevant in the JL in past years. The first film should focus on these 5 guys and develop their dynamics before you can even think on expanding the roster.

Zack Snyder definitely missed the point of the Justice League. We saw them as being above humanity and often seeing the heroes kill people. Wonder Woman did not need to break a guy’s neck or blow up someone. Batman was threatening to kill the Joker, Superman was barley in the movie and still no growth. The only redeeming characters were Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg.

This was an interesting take on the flaws of the various iterations of JL. My biggest problem has been that it does not seem like anyoje who has been in charge of these movies actually understands the characters. If we r lucky, they may know the very broad strokes of some of the major storylines, but they do not understand what made those storylines iconic or seminal. Snyder definitely did not understand them. his vision was always too muddled, literally and figuratively on all aspects. and to be honest, he just made a worse version of the Boys. I hope that the studio and snyders successors learn from ALL of his mistakes
