If you are willing to put your life on the line for a country, yes you deserve citizenship. Look at the fact that so many native- born citizens don't want to step up to defend their own, then how many immigrants are granted citizenship without doing anything to serve their new Home.

Ur Mom the original settlers of the British Isles were the Celts. The majority of British people today are directly descended from these original settlers who arrived in Britain 7000-8000 years ago via a land bridge. It is likely they were here even before that as the figure 8000 years ago comes from simple tools found in multiple dig sites across Britain. Even in England a country considered to be Germanic, the majority of the genetic markers in the English peoples DNA is actually from these original settlers only around a third of the English DNA is from the Anglo Saxons the normans and the Vikings had absolutely no impact on the genetic make up of the English. In other words the British have been in Britain longer than the Japanese have been in Japan and even longer by some 5000 years than the Maori have been in New Zealand they are entirely native to the British isles and there genetic make up is completely unique and not replicated in any other ethnic group even among similar groups such as other Europeans.

@wearealltubes lots of modern "scientific" experiments regarding genialogy, sexuality, and psychology are complete bunk with political motivations. You'll often find the reason they're conducted is because some university student or professor wants to make a point and they'll ignore scientific process to do so. For example, check out the scientific paper by googling "what do maggots and homosexual public displays of affection have in common?" to see how quickly a study gets scrapped when it doesn't give the answers they want.

I think they are wonderful. The minute they join, they and their families should be granted British citizenship if they want it.

Making your bed seems to be equally significant for those who join the Légion Etrangère. In itself it is of course rather frivolous and not exactly something you can stick to once you're send on a combat mission. So this whole housekeeping operation has quite other purposes than just keeping the barracks tidy. It might even be that making sure people can obey to the letter to rather frivolous rules is the main purpose. All those those head stick out of the grass, like mine would, are out. They have to become part of a machine in which every little wheel functions like expecting, without asking all the time why it has to turn to this or that direction. For those who are too creative thinkers to do just that, joining the intelligence agencies is a far better option. They do need people who can think out of the box, come up with creative solutions not just in the heat of the battle, but constantly, to stay a few steps ahead of their enemy or target.

Must be the only regiment still doing beds etc like that. We made blocks and Wednesday beds etc in the RM when I went through CTCRM. Not anymore though. It’s blue quilts now. Can’t knock the standards of the Gurkhas though they are immaculate.
