I love doing wood work on a wood lathe. But last year I had a very old lathe that was heavily damaged and I gave it to the scrapman. I'm thinking of buying a new lathe. This design is very nice. You're a good master. Figured walnut bowl was very nice. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing. Yours truly.....

WOW! That is a phenomenal bowl. The grain on it is stunning. I like how you showed how to remove the bottom. I dont think I have ever seen anyone do that.

Lol, it didn't fit in my flat chuck so I was forced to do it. But I'm happy that I did. I really like the look. Thanks for watching!

That walnut grain figure really pops. Well done 👍. Unfortunately, this is the very reason why my garage is filled with odds and ends that I cannot throw away. Each scrap holds the potential of making something fantastic...at least that’s what I tell my wife!

Hi there it's really great to meet you Adam and cheers from Montreal. Always great to meet and connect with fellow creators on this platform from Canada as that's been a side passion of ours since we started our Channel back a year-and-a-half ago. There's so much great talent coming out of this country and you are definitely a huge part of that for sure. I have worked some with wood as I grew up in eastern rural Quebec but not to the extent you've done and I'm hoping one day to get more into it. you do fantastic work and it's amazing how you can take a block of wood and turn it into a bowl and enjoyed each minute of it. Such a fine skill and you do it fantastic and once again it's really great to meet you and connect with you and hope you have a fantastic weekend. We are a husband and wife team who do video/photography by day here in Montreal and live streams at night featuring gameshow style shout outs (The wheel of shoutouts & New game called the Pusa Push for under 1k channels), Q&As on channel building and growth as well as interviews with Celebrities (two Emmy-award winnings guests and largest channel is 3.5 million followers) and big topics regarding the KZbin platform. Cheers and keep creating

brilliant. very nice. lathe is something on the "to learn" list foe me....
@heyimamaker5 жыл бұрын
I have really enjoyed it and obviously still learning but keep an eye out for an old used one, I paid $150 for this one with a set of chisels. I bought a chuck new after so all in I think less than $200 Canadain.
@LostStormcrow5 жыл бұрын
@Mosca Woodworking - I’d say it depends on your finances. I started with a Nova DVR (expensive but not insane) which made learning a lot easier. The NDVR does not requires belt changes and automatically adjusts torque to keep rpm consistent. If it’s in your range I’d advise spending the extra money. I’ve gone cheap on a lot of tools and been very happy but the lathe is a bit different. Not to say you can’t learn on a cheaper lathe just that the splurge is more worthwhile than it is on most tools.
@heyimamaker5 жыл бұрын
@@LostStormcrow I would love a modern lathe for sure, adjusting the tool rest requires a wrench!

If you start with a faceplate on what will be the hollowed out section, then use the tenon you made on the bottom, you should be able to avoid making a hole. Looks great though.

Any questions let me know, I don't have any audio equipment and really don't think I should be offering ways to do things. I could and might offer a narrative on how I do things / learned to do them but I don't know enough to be teaching people..

@@heyimamaker All you got to do is say what your are doing and with what. Surley your camera has sound. Everyone has an opinon. But, you are doing fine, I'm just not a fan of music or no narrative. Take care, Larry
