As a Philadelphian, I have to say that I honestly love when people make "fusion" dishes with cheesesteaks and other types of cuisine. It's a nice riff off of the classic and usually ends up being incredible with a new combination of flavors. No need to apologize for this Daniel, it looks absolutely delicious!

Also a Philadelphia, and same, I'm on board with this and new takes on a cheesesteak. The thing that urks me is when you get people going "THIS IS A CLASSIC PHILLY CHEESESTEAK" and what they make is so far off base its a joke.

As someone very familiar with Korean cuisine, the fried egg makes complete sense. Koreans love nothing more than topping their food with a fried egg. Except maybe putting red pepper paste into everything. And yes, you have to have pear in your bulgogi marinade.

don't forget putting corn in everything

I found most interesting thst there actually is no Gojujang in the marinade itself. I thought there had to be and did some similar marinade recently for grilled pork but with gojujang in it and without a pear as they aren't in season yet and as I understabd our normal european pears taste way different anyway. But I'll try it when they'll be available soon.

As someone born in Colorado yet lived in the Midwest most of her life, the first time I took a chance with eating a cheesesteak sandwich was in 2010 and I loved it. I'm so happy to know this recipe, because I plan to make my own bulgogi cheesesteak sandwhich for the first time when I get the chance before or after I move out from living with my mom for so long. Thank you so much to both of you. In the meantime, later on today I think I'm gonna order another philly cheesesteak for lunch later on today.

Never thought of fried egg on a Philly The I'm assuming spicy mayo substance yum. I'd resplit the split top roll leaving the nubs (like when you flower a baked potato) then drizzle some clarrifed garlic butter in the split. And toast the roll. Then stuff. The nubs keep drippings to a minimum.

Considering how thinly sliced some versions of bulgogi can get, a cheesesteak seems like a reasonable if not almost inevitable evolution of both dishes.
@Nightriser271828 Жыл бұрын
I was at the grocery store a couple years ago, looking for flat iron steak to slice up for bulgogi. The butcher said he didn't have any, but took me to some shaved ribeye that had a picture of what was probably cheesesteak on the package, saying that Asian women loved using it. Mind you, I never told him what I was using it for, so it certainly does overlap, and we're far from the first to observe that.
