Oh my God, you are so encourager you’re making me literally wanna post my videos of when I was making my paperclip chain. This is so cool. I was just watching the video I made almost a year ago yesterday . It’s a hot mess.😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 I can’t I can’t it’s just too much. It is too much.😆😆😆😆🤣🤣😆😂 maybe one day i’ll take another go at it we’ll see. But you encourage me and you encourage me so much because I’m self taught I teach myself everything I know, including how to read. Thanks again thank you so much for sharing. I’m gonna watch this video again. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌟😆😁😁🤣🤣🤣😁🤣 I can’t stop laughing finally got this soldering thing down🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣 I used to think the same thing it’s so funny just only maybe about three weeks ago. I was saying that to myself I’m trying to work on a doggy paw sterling silver pendant and I have to make four toes so I need four basil cups plus one for the paw so I thought I was cool When I was making my basil cups with no problems, I had a bad habit of melting them when I was making them😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😆😆 but I think I got it down now yay 😄👏😄😁

@@rurusrings I'd be interested in seeing more of the soldering and hammering. I was surprised the rings flattened out so nicely.
@rurusrings4 ай бұрын
So I legit just twisted it so much that it laid flat. The more you twist the more it starts to bend into a straight flat shape. And then you just hammer it down the chain to give the flattened look.

I will attempt another chain most likely a bracelet soon and show that part of the process in that video if interested!!

@@rurusrings Totally interested, I may have to try this myself. I need to watch your video on wire choice you mentioned.

Try making about 100 coils at once. The take the spring looking coil to a vice place the coils in a piece of soft leather or even rubber shelf liner and just a jewelers saw to cut a straight line down the center. No worries over beveled edge vs a flush edge. They will all be perfect!

Thank you so much for commenting!! I’ve tried that once before but the orings wouldn’t stay still and my blade kept sliding and ruined the inside of the orings… so you have any recommendations for that? I might’ve just done it wrong the first time I’ll have to try it again!! Thank you!!

What hardness is the wire you’re using? Dead soft or half hard?
@rurusringsАй бұрын
I will always order dead soft wire just because It’s so easy to reharden and resoften your metal. I just stick to using dead soft also so I don’t get mixed up lol
@emmacarroll3665Ай бұрын
@@rurusrings thank you!! I want to make a chain for my boyfriend for Christmas but I was concerned the dead soft would be too soft and would bend out of shape. Do you have a technique you like to work harden the wire?

Oh dear, I can’t stand it when my links stick the worst is when you melt half the link on top of soldering it too another link, But you’re right I pretty much fix them the same exact way and just replace the melted link, it can take a lot of time making a chain. A lot of people don’t understand that. I’m self taught with pretty much every and anything that I do, however, when I first started thinking about making chains, I thought they would just take a few minutes to put together but no , chains Take a long time to make it could take anywhere from one to three days sometimes depending on the type of chain you’re making, but I love making my chains, I love all arts. 🎭

It definitely takes a while to make a chain omg it’s a very tedious process!! But the outcome is so worth it!!! I’m glad I’m not the only one that can struggle with the process though, I thought I was just bad at it but realized it truly is a learning experience!! It definitely takes time to learn for sure!! I’d love to see what you make though, do you have any social medias I can check out?
